Jack is missing

Post by bfj »

So I got a phone call from Jack's dad today saying that Jack has been missing since Wednesday. Now Jack's dad hates me so this was surprising, so it must be something.
My mom spotted Jack Wednesday morning walking by my old house. He told her he had been kicked out of the local bar and had been sleeping in a friend's car and was walking to another friend's car to continue sleeping.
Jack's dad said he got a message on Wednesday from Jack who had taken his dad's canoe and was going to go canoing with some guy named Nate from Connecticut.
Now Cedar Creek is like fucking Haiti right now so it's probably not best navigated by hungover guys like Jack. So that was the last anyone heard of him. The Canoe is still gone. Cross your fingers Pax that Jack turns up o.k. I'll be looking for him all weekend.

Jack Update

Post by bfj »

Jack was spotted Thursday morning and a local source was quoted as saying "I think maybe he was going to go up north with some dude..."
The canoe is still missing but we believe Jack is out of the water. Boy is his dad going to be pissed when he finds him.

Jack was supposed to help his dad set up for Maxwell Street Days. I went by their stand and Jack wasn't there. His father had heard something about trout fishing and maybe going west...

What's with the little devil, Jack? I like a smiling devil rather than a frowning one:

It occurs to me this could be easily turned into an unflattering psychological evaluation of me, but what the hell, those emoticons are all about psychology!

In honor of your return, Jack, I've put on Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters' new band Sun Kil Moon, which absolutely blows my mind. I had a conversation with Martino not too long ago about bands/artists that I associate with a time in my life in the past and would be hard for me to return to, but this one totally breaks the mold. I've had to curse myself for my skepticism. I think it's better than the last RHP album.

I appreciate the concern Pax, however I was not in harms way. The cash reward is off. I'm sorry.

"I've got ramblin' fever, got that ramblin' fever on my mind."

Well Ryan, my number is 442 4316, it should be working in the next couple of days, I finally learned how to sign a check and mail a bill. Well, in about six hours I have a summer class to begin, spanish 201, and I think I've had too much to drink, so I believe I'll watch "Don't Look Back", and call it a night, someone is knocking on my door, I'll talk to ya later.
