Jake,

I'm sorry, but as far as I am concerned you have failed to supply me with a coherent analysis of how and why this consumer item is a marker for the begining of the end.

Can you clear up the following? Trade with China: a good or bad thing? Word capitalist economy: bad or good? If bad, what is your alternative?

Don't read too much into a hand wave, the image might have been reversed in printing. If he held up his left hand would this make him Joe Stalin? Would that be better or worse? (Honestly, you can say a lot about GWB but you can't call him a Nazi. Unless you haven't got a fucking clue about the third reich.)

Why are you surprised to find small chaep consumer items manufactured abroad? Where have you been these last 40 years?

In a county that not too long ago tied itself in knots over a flag burning amendment, why were you surprised at the rally round the flag post 9/11?

Most, if not all of what you wrote about (And I'm not bothering to go back and check) existed prior to and inspite of GWB. I refer back to my opening point - you have failed to convince me that this knife is anything more than a small item of mildly ironic kitsch.

Oh man, well I'm not going to go back and forth on this. You pick my nose, I'll pick your nose...

Trade with China, good or bad?
--Bad for the people in the state I bought this knife. The same state that supports him even though the job czar he promised just off shored over a hundred jobs in his own company.

nazi etc...
--Fine, Rove is the Nazi. Bush was just "following orders." (Although Sam Bush built the Bush fortune by hiding money for the Nazi's.) But look, I'm not saying anything about the knife was intentional, that doesn't diminish it's representations...

cheap consumer aboad surprise, etc...
--I'm not surprised. Milwaukee, San Francisco, Vancouver, L.A., and various places in the U.S from time to time.

flag rally, post 9/11
--I wasn't surprised. You keep dropping words in your post that would suggest I said other things. But this flag burning amendment had a support of a minority and the indifference of the majority. That's how it got through.

What was your last point? Ah fuck it. I'm not going to bother to go back and check... The first four didn't hold me.

Finally, Why do you hate America Tommy Martyn?

I know why, it's because you're envious of our freedom.

Staunch Ally my ass! I hear you put vinegar on your freedom fries. That's sick!

I oughta stab you with my Bush knife for even eating our freedom fries.

Liberal Terrorist.

...yeah this is ugly. By the way I'm not a fan of the cliche' "the beginning of the end" Logically no such thing can exist. Unless you believe in God as the first cause. Then he is the beginning of the end. Everything after that is cause and effect.
