let me add some colour
Mav, are you aiming at my ass? Myke... shut it.
H: Just said stupid as one of those deadpan comebacks when someone says "call me stupid". A sorta chuckle to myself. Wasn't actually calling him stupid.
Sloth ... yes, I can't get the damned avatar thing to work. Also, I want to make use of my earthlink webspace. I'm using the Mozilla Composer to start with teaching myself how to make a basic web page. I've got a few questions. Can I e-mail them to you? I could use the help.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - If Washington doubts there is Iraqi public support for guerrillas killing its troops, it should consider the teenagers who happily watched American blood spill on Wednesday.
After a roadside bomb ripped through a military vehicle and wounded two soldiers, Iraqi boys rushed out of their homes to survey the damage.
"This is good. If they ask me, I will join the resistance. The Americans have to die," said Ali Qais, 15. "They are just here to steal our oil."
The U.S. administration has long dismissed the guerrillas as isolated "terrorists" who are Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) loyalists or foreign Islamic militants.
But the scene in the Sarafiya district of Baghdad suggests they are winning the sympathy of Iraqis, whose joy at Saddam's fall has been overshadowed by anti-American rage.
Teenage boys were irritated to hear that two American soldiers were just wounded, not killed.
"I saw them pushing their hands onto one of the Americans' chest. They must have died. One soldier's friend was crying," said Abdullah Oman, 18.
His fury has been fueled by what he says is an American desire to humiliate all Iraqis.
He even believes that U.S. troops plant the bombs themselves, risking American lives to terrify and kill Iraqis.
"They are watching us die and laughing. They humiliate us. They handcuffed me and arrested me in front of my parents late one night because I stood on my house porch after curfew," he said.
Guerrillas have killed 155 American soldiers since President Bush declared major combat over on May 1.
In the months after the war, Iraqis voiced frustration with the American failure to crack down on looters and restore basic services.
Now talk has turned increasingly violent, especially among teenagers. They have watched American soldiers arrest their fathers and body-search their mothers during intrusive raids.
Iraqis are angrier and guerrillas are carrying out more spectacular attacks such as suicide bombings and mortar strikes on the main U.S. compound in Saddam's former palace.
Shortly after Wednesday's bombing teenagers in Sarafiya picked up leaflets from a group calling itself the Army of Mohammad.
"Patience, patience Baghdad. The occupation army will be destroyed," the leaflets said.
Residents of the working-class area watched as a U.S. soldier poured water and sand over the pools of blood from his comrades.
"I want to join these Iraqi fighters. I want to hit the Americans, the infidels," said Ali Ahmed, 10.
Great, 10 year-olds using the word 'infidels' that's all we need. But how would you feel, huh, if you watched foreign soldiers give your mom a cavity search? And Larry Flynt has pictures of a naked Jessica Lynch; that too is all we need. Like a hole in the head. Oops, that might be too close to the truth for those infidels dodging bullets. Maybe it's all we need like another Stephen King novel or Big Mac. But I bet those infidels wouldn't mind too much being safely back home with their feet up eating a burger and watching the film version of Misery. (Infidels ain't much into reading.) -McCutcheon

That article that you posted McCutcheon is evidence that something else is out of hand in Iraq...It shows that Iraqis are hearing as much false propaganda as we are...just different types.
Lets debunk a few of theses myths on both sides
Do American troops really want to humiliate all Iraqis? No, as McCutcheon says, they'd much rather be home eating cheeseburgers and debating the decline of Brett Favre.
Is the war over? No. we need to either give up and pull everyone out, or go at them at full strength the way we did when it was still an official war and not a Vietnam style debacle.
Are our troops welcomed by Iraqis who are glad Saddam is gone? No, they are mistrusted because of the past (They abandoned US supporters to the wrath of Hussein when Bush Sr. decided he had received all the political merit possible from his Gulf War)
Is Saddam really gone? No. He is more powerful now than ever because he can claim persecution by "Infidels" and raise himself to the level of a religious figure.
Do the American troops deserve the hatred of Iraqis? No. They are in a dangerous place, doing a job that they would rather not be doing. They have reasons to be suspicious of all Iraqis...the terrorist resistance wants it that way. The Coaloition troops have no way to spot an enemy. They don't wear conveinient uniforms to identify themselves. They dress and act live civilians, to sow fear and distrust on all sides. I don't blame those teenagers for being angry that their mothers and fathers were searched, but I don't blame the troops for searching them either. When you've seen friends blown up seconds after waving to some kids on the side of the road as you pass in your jeep, you'd be suspicious too.

Jessica Lynch naked? She agreed to do the pictures for Hustler? That is sadder than the fact that she was captured in the first place.
Larry Flynt "Hey private Lynch, sorry about that whole ordeal. Wanna get naked, I'll pay you."
PFC Lynch "I don't know, that seems kind of weird. I mean, just because people heard I was a prisoner doesn't mean they want to see my tits."
Flynt" Sure it does...and hey, those gunshot scars don't look so bad afterall. Besides what are you going to do now? Work at Wendy's? People are already starting to forget..."
Lynch "The guy from the army gave me a medal and said that they'd never forget my sacrifice"
Flynt " Right..."
Lynch " Well, there were other POWs taken..."
Flynt" They were guys...besides, what everyone really wants to know is if they raped you. Some of our readers have that soldier/POW fantasy...
Lynch "Gross...I don't want those guys looking at me."
Flynt "I'll give you $100,000"
Lynch "Just for being naked? I'll take it."

People dying violently everyday on both sides. Outkasts's Bombs Over Baghdad. If this isn't called "a war" than what the fuck is it called? Oh, it's called "Operation Iron Hammer." I liked a simplier life when all we did was listen to our Smiths albums and made fun of "Operation MC Hammer."
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - U.S. aircraft struck at targets close to Baghdad airport Friday evening in the third successive night of "Operation Iron Hammer," an American drive to root out guerrillas and attack their hideouts in the capital.
Reuters witnesses reported several explosions around the airport, in the southwest of the city, after dark Friday, as U.S. planes and helicopters flew overhead.
The operation follows a series of guerrilla mortar and rocket attacks on the headquarters of the U.S.-led administration in central Baghdad.

A few of my friends just left from Fort Lewis... About 3,000 people in the last week have gone to Kuwait... from where they'll eventually drive to Baghdad. They're going to be there for about 14 months... it's nice to know we're being told in the news that we're handing the country over in June... I guess the new puppet government will be happy to have soldiers hang around and get blown up.
"I spent all summer days driving."
