My wife gave birth to a baby boy at 3:00AM Saturday morning. He's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.

Absolute major congratulations. I'd love to send a token of congrats? Is there anything y'all need?? Just say so if so and e-mail me an address. If not, I'll just send a card.

Way to go Daddy-0! Congrats!!!!!!!!! Love from the bottom of my heart to you and Kim and baby boy. Yesterday we talked about you and we were wondering how it was all going (and how to sneak to your cabin- just kidding) so this is just so great.

Thank yuo all very much. He's a wee bit pre mature, so he's still in the hospital. We're hoping that he can come home by the weekend. He seems to really dig Otis Reading. As soon as I can get some pictures I'll put them up here. I have never been happier than I am right now.

Congratulations to Brett & Kim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the adorable boy is well and soon will be out to play with mum & dad & the hairy dogs and enjoy the Canadian summer.

As you might have noticed I don't normally post on this board since I think it's Sloth's playground but this time I couldn't stop myself.

All the best to the new parents and their boy!

So somebody new has come to live in your house and you don't know the first thing about them. Don't worry, you will. These are very exciting times, even for a spare part like a father. Please accept my warmest congratulations and pass them on to the new mum.

I gotta say I really like that approach "someone has come to live in your house and you don't know the first thing about them". I think it's best to see our children in that light, you know, they really are their own separate beings completely aside from our expectations of them or whatever dreams or needs they may fulfill for us.
I read an article recently about the importance of being honest with your kids, even in difficult situations. It was saying how often the truth is easier for them to digest, that if you try to cover things up it just leaves them confused or makes them feel they can't trust you.
Perhaps I should let those who have kids speak, like Martino & H. but there's my two cents. I just think kids need respect more than anything.

we went to the horse races yesterday -- me with wife and 12 year old daughter and a fun boisterous bunch of friends. daughter is in the horsey age and knows everything about those terrifying animals (me, i always hold it with what steve mcqueen said, "i'll be happy to befriend a horse as soon as one can join me at a bar and buy me a drink").

i told daughter i needed some serious betting help and that i would cut her allowance if she messed up.

and presto, it worked out just fine; we left the races with a 500% profit (that just about paid for the drinks and food we consumed...)
