Didn't mean to piss you off Myke. The KKK was protesting at Agusta, or some damn golf course. Tis true. But I was only trying to be funny.

and rabbit, what the hell is an Emo kid. is that one of those puppets from Jim Hanson?

I refuse to let this thread die until I obtain a definition of "pee paw".

Mike, McC is just being his usual journalistic kindof-of-a-troublemaker-kindof-not self. It took me awhile to get used to it, but pay it no mind. He has to spread the McFunk around sometimes.

i always like being in the south.

the first time for me was in the early 80s, and i was just a kid hitchhiking, and met the weirdest characters. like this one guy named rance: his buddies were always joking that he had just spent time on account of stealing a police car. anyway, rance was a proper red-neck hippie, did the nicest drugs, and was all for ronnie reagan: "the russkies know they can't shit with ronnie. they piss on his toes and he won't for a minute hesitate to press the button, fire the missiles and nuke 'em." rance was impressive.

last time for me was in august 2001; i was travelling in alabama with a japanese client and his wife. for some reason we were booked in an unbelievably run-down holiday inn near montgomery one night but could hardly sleep because of the commotion in the hallways. it turned out that that particular hotel was a regional favorite for sexual encounters between bears, i.e. hairy fat gay guys.

well, if i had to define pee paw i guess it would mean an old-timer or grandpa. a nickname for old folks. we use it all the time here in the sticks.

I was born in Wisconsin and I always take the piss out of the overweight, deep-fried cheese curd eating, lite beer swilling, and schmuks there. Read my story Cashews.

To quote Homer Simpson when his hometown of Springfield won fattest city in America, “Take that Milwaukee!”

We also have the Violent Femmes (the most underrated US band in history- they were too far ahead of their time) Frank Lloyd Wright who made these super cool drafty unlivable houses, and, and hmmm, I’m sure we had something else but think of anything at the moment. Oh yeah we have the Packers and Brett Farve, but then they and went and got beat by Michael Vick and The Atlanta Falcons, which of course is a shame because southern hicks are way too stupid to understand football.

Now Mc, THAT explains it. You were in Augusta. See. the KKK is still here. Can't deny that. They're just much more of a fringe group. They only slink out when they can get a little publicity & the male only golf club down there is a perfect place to be for them. The last time I remember them getting their hoods in a wad here was a few years ago when the Governor had the Confederate flag brought down from the dome of the Statehouse.

Hey, I wish the Carolina Panthers might actually win once or twice. They suck.

By the way ... aren't "emo kids" the ones who really get into "emo music" ... one of the latest trendy words. For emotional rock.

I usually bristle a little at terms used to describe music beyond basics like jazz pop or rock...but "emo" bothers me more than just about any other term I can think of. I don't know if I'm just too old or too Brit centric, but jeez I don't know how that term could possibly have any real definable or useful meaning. I bet it's just a catch all for any American music that isn't 100% macho noise and screaming. It certainly isn't some new form of music. What was Elliott Smith doing that was so original?

Yeah I know what Emo is and was just playing stupid, again to lighten the mood. What I post here Myke, and what I'm like in life are too different things. I just like to write lots of bullshit and see what happens, always changing sides for a laugh. Like Mark said it takes a while to get used to, even worse if you know me like Mark does.

Emotinal Rock- I say fuck that. That shits for bed wetters. It doesn't help all those bands suck. A scream, grunt, and a oh yeah can be emotional.

I bet they play lots of Creed at that bar ....

I saw this one musician ... can't remember who ... on MTV (or was it in a magazine?) who had a t-shirt on that had a clip from SouthPark that said "even Jesus hates Creed".
