beautiful

Post by Jack Chiefton »

So it's funny when I'm walking down the street and i see everyone holding hands, guys and guys, girls and girls even but that does not matter, that is still beautiful but i'm not holding hands just my cigarette and now my fingers are starting to get an acrid yellowish glow to them and where is my hand to hold through all of this yes i start to feel narcisistic but it happens and finally when i think i'm the onely lonely creature in this town i see two squirrels outside my little window playing chase and when the male finally catches his counterpart they start kissing i swear to god they started kissing and i thought how beautiful! but why did it make me so sad?

. . . They have asked
the psychiatrists psychologists politicians and
social workers
What this decade will be
known for
There is no doubt it is
loneliness

If loneliness were a grape
the wine would be vintage
if it were wood
the furniture would be mahogany
But since it is life it is
Cotton Candy
on a rainy day
The sweet soft essence
of possibility
Never quite maturing . . .

("Cotton Candy on a Rainy Day"
--Nikki Giovanni)

Damn, I love that poet even if she would hate that a little ole white girl like me loves her.
Jack, enjoy your cotton candy!

Well, walking underneath that tree this morning, I stepped on an already dead, crushed, emaciated squirrel corpse. I think it was one of the two that I've been watching for a while since I've only seen one bouncing around those trees lately. Well, at least he/she got some action before it croaked.
