For Tommy...

Post by Alta Vista [Bot] »

TM,

Seems like no men, (married to american women in your extended family), have any luck with their marriages in the long run..?!?!?! I say this only because I think marriage is a one time deal. I for one, don't think divorce should ever be an option, but then again....I'm a nobody sharing a "little" bit of experience with someone going through it for the first time. I can only hope you find some peace with your situation and have faith that everything happens for a reason. I truly beleive you will be okay in the end. I wish you the best of luck. Take care of your children.

In all honesty, I had forgotten about my posting, (might have been a little drunk at the time,) but I am always willing to discuss failed relationships. It seems I have a knack for finding the wrong women to date or marry. Oh well, way it goes.

Divorce update latest.

Now is the time of the lawyers. I've had a written document from my wife for a week or so. I took it round to my ace legal team (My father-in-law and my sister-in-law: a financial guy and a public defender respectively) It didn't seem that bad to me. There were a few things that I could change, but nothing too unreasonable. Not so for my legal team though. The old man is coughing up the dough for a real lawyer. How wild is that? Paying to sue your own daughter. How did it get to this? Just to make it interesting I'm flying out to London on Sunday. I'll be staying with the missus for one night. That should be fun.

Go on my son.

But really. Call me if you want. I'm a yank. And we listen about these things. Best bit about being American, we always have your back.

"I'll be staying with the missus for one night. That should be fun."

what?! i didn't know you could do that. i thought that once you legally separated you couldn't live together/spend the night together.

divorce sucks. my friends who've been through it and actually did get divorced are a lot happier now though, so that's something good to think about.

baby reading for tommy:
(we had the blood test yesterday to see if the baby has downs or not; i didn't want to do it. i told the hubby that i didn't want any of those tests run because there is absolutely nothing they or i can do to prevent something like that. but he was like, yes! we want the test! i stared at him like are you f-ing crazy! the nurse said let me give you a second and i could feel "you were supposed to decide this before you got here". i wanted to say, i had decided. but he's not cooperating now! so i changed my mind because it's very much his baby too, so we'll find out in about two weeks.

the baby has a good strong heart beat, we heard it yesterday for the second time and it sounds like i have a little race horse in there. my stuff feels healthy to our doctors. i'm not gaining much weight, which had worried me, but my docs say it's okay right now it's fairly normal, and i'll probably wake up one morning like boom big baby belly. we go for the big ultrasound, the photo shoot, i like to call it, in three weeks.)

That's the strangest thing I've heard, but who wants to spend the night with an ex anyway?

It's just the logistics. I fly out of Cincinnati and into London with the kids. I clear customs and schlep them all the way over to Richmond from Gatwick. My next flight is to Scotland the next morning (sans kids - to see my sister). I might as well crash at the old ladies place. It's cheaper and we can make the kids feel all special. When I get back from Scotland I have to stop by again to take th e kids with me to Liverpool From there we head over to Ireland and then one last stop over with the witch in London before dragging the monsters over to Cincinnati. Phew! There's nothing like a relaxing break.

really? two divorcing female friends, one in new orleans, well slidell and another here have told me similar things about legal separation. maybe you can't sleep in your former shared residence? i don't know. i'm going to find out about this.

uhhmmm me and the hubby :l
about sleeping with the separated . . . the hubby and i were in the middle of separation and all that. now we're not. at some point we slept together.

tommy, i hope that's not terrible. i guess it's up to the two of you how terrible all of it is.

let the divorce technicalities begin:

I definitely do not know ohio's laws, but in Virginia and Louisiana, I think this is standard divorce / legal separation procedure:

“The definition of "legal separation" depends on your state of residence. Generally, if you and your spouse stop cohabitation, you will be deemed to be "separated". . . Some states require a couple to remain separated for a period of time before divorce. . . Folks who choose to stay in the same house and live in separate bedrooms are generally not "legally separated" and can not deduct support payments made to the other. Legal Separation is only one part of the divorce process.â€￾

So tommy, I'm guessing either you two aren't considered to be cohabitating if you share a place for a night in London, or ohio is not the same as the states I've lived in.

hey rosie

tommy is divorcing and going back to school to learn how to help kids; he also has a girlfriend.

maverick is getting married or is married already without a post dunno

jack and rabbit are dads

i'm getting ready to be a mom -- two weeks away!

martino left -- his farewell address is around here somewhere, i think he missed ya.

pixie is back in school and back with us -- she contemplated marriage but i don't know if it's happening

mark is drunk on pumpkin ale or champagne -- he had a new job, but i'm not sure if he kept it.

dunno where mc is -- he's mostly been in nyc scribbles -- so i assume he's mostly in new york.

sloth you know is in sweden with his wife

i don't know where h is, but she makes an occassional appearance.

other people i have not kept up with and i am sorry if i left something out.

are you great? glad to see you back here. i think you left off with your stalker. i always worry; people leave and i'm like well, i hope they're okay. ulitmately that's all that matters.

i missed a lot. it is like the facts of life reunion show. it sounds like everyone is doing great. i see h everyday. she is kicking ass at her job. i am expanding to the awful yuppie infested kirkland washington. it should be an interesting deal. i got rid of the stalker and am dating a wonderful man. my ex husband is pregnant. they live down the street. i commute to portland a lot. i like doing that. i am going to montreal soon. does anyone live in montreal. where does tommy live? why did martino say goodbye?
