9/11 a hoax? And the French...

Post by marky »

Hey I saw this in the paper and thought of you guys. Here goes:

_________________________________________
New York - A French author who suggests that the Sept. 11 attacks were devised by a faction of the U.S. military is planning to promote his book on a tour that will begin in New York City.

Thierry Meyssan's book "9-11, The Big Lie" also suggests that the Pentagon was hit by an American missle, not a hijacked airliner. In the book, the left-wing author suggests that the attacks were plotted to promote a U.S. military agenda that included waging war in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon has called the allegations in the book "more than insulting".
_____________________________________

Now I don't necessarily believe it was all a hoax, but at the same time I think it's interesting someone would go that far with it. I guess there are conspiracy theorists for everything. Maybe he's just trying to cash in.

Anyway, speaking of the French, I saw one hell of a French movie recently. It's an old movie I rented called Betty Blue. I only rented it cause I remembered when I was in England in 1990 I kept seeing posters for it everywhere, which I can't now figure out because the movie was from '85 or '86.
Anyway, I'm pretty damn picky when it comes to films but this was about 3 times better than what I would have expected from a movie. Any of you guys (or gals) heard of it?

I like the poem. I also think "Visions Of Marilyn Manroe" is hilarious. I've got a whole collection of the best MM photos ever on my walls. I even paid $18 (sacrificed a potential CD!) for the poster that has her lifting weights in 1952. I've been into MM photos since I was 11 years old.

But most recently I've fallen for Greta Garbo, so MM hasn't been forefront in my mind.

Hmm. I just realized that the box of crackers I am now holding has a message typed in letters like the capital letters on a typewriter and the message says "KNOCKOUT FOR BLEED". This message is underneath the first flap of cardboard when you first open the box, like a cereal box. Now, why would a message like that be on a box of crackers??
Am I missing something here?

I went to a photo gallery in paris that had MM. They were the ones in the orange series. naked with swaps of orange over them. some of the best photos I've ever seen. I guess the day of the shoot MM was knocked out on reds and a bottle of vodka and her appearence is almost non existent yet strangley so alluring.

speaking of pictures, if Sloth is true to his word and up to the task we should have two new gallery photos going up soon. almost as good as MM naked and knocked out on reds and a bottle of vodka.

The only photos I've seen that are like that were ones published in Life magazine in '82. It definitely looked like she was drinking liquor, although I remember the fabric draped over her being more peach/pink than orange. There was one in there were she tried a black wig, which might have worked better if the wig wasn't so bad.

Maverick I'm going to get to the bottom of the cracker message, I assure you. It's just too weird.
