Reading a new book by a French author called Atomised by Michel Houellebecq. It has the most amazing cover which I will display below.

Houellebecq beleives that Islam is a cancer and that life in the West has sucked since the 1950's. I don't know if he's right or not as I haven't finished the book. He thinks we live in spiritless times. It sure feels like it sometimes. But I have met spiritual people. The sad thing is when Michel was a boy he was ugly and no one would dance with him and that explains the bleak outlook.

Spiritual people are boring. They can keep their crystals and Ying yang up the ass. They are as boring as born again Christians. Fuck are those people are bad. Newly converted addicts in the name of Jesus Christ.

Now tonight I'm seeing the band Spiritualized who are anything but boring and I'll be on ecstasy so I might see God.

what constitutes being called a spiritual person ?and don't you feel anything when you hear primal scream?
you won't see god on xtc and it wasn't created in the 80's.
i think it is easy to get on a soap box and say how stupid spirituality is.

Have fun at the all concerts mccutcheon. Sounds fun. I'm going to belle and sebastien tomorrow. Hope I have more fun than last time. And Houellebecq is not a new age philosopher. In fact YOU are a spiritual person so then you hate yourself which is par for the course. Nah. Nah. I took some pills on Saturday and went to the biggest club in London there were so many Brittney Spears clones and pill heads there I thought I was at a rave or something. The whole club was underground in an old closed down tube stop from 19th century. The rooms were filled with smoke and there were three djs at the same time in different parts of the club. And the place was decorated like Space Mountain at Disney World. And they serveed beer until 3AM. There was no room to dance, no room to dance, and hardly enough room to stand. And the music never got below 140BPM. I can't decide yet if it was fun or not. It was definitely interesting, but will be a stark contrast from B&S.

Well this is certainly an interesting conversation you guys have got going on
here. Belle & Sebastian tomorrow...that's
a lovely thought.

I could swear that book Atomised is the one I heard Scottish Mark DJ talking about one time in a restaurant. He said it was really depressing.

But I think the title went through my
brain like butter because Atomizer is
the title of the pivotal masterpiece
album of Big Black's career in my opinion,
so it makes me think of that first.

It sounds pretty wild though this book.

Perhaps needless to say I'm off me head at the
moment.

I hope you will tell us how it went McCutcheon.
The Spiritualized and the XTC. (Irony: XTC
are one of my favorite bands in the known
universe)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I like the way that looks for some reason.

I should clarify that I'm into art, like
geometric really colorful art. So the E's
together looks real geometric. Photography art is cool, too. I guess I'm probably on the wrong
part of the website about now...this is
Literature. Okay. Well I shant say another
thing, then.

Hey, not all Christians are psychos! Most of them are, I know this. But my Dad's a non-denominational pastor and he's the coolest mofo in the world. By far the coolest pastor I've ever met. He's never "holier than thou" and he doesn't try to force me into the church or use scare tactics. But I'm not a Christian, more agnostic than anything else. Do you guys believe in God?

Okay okay okay.

"Spiritual" sounds a little gay, as McCutcheon popinted out, even though Spirtitualized is a great band as everybody knows. But spiritual how I meant it is not a guy in a dress and a funny hat talking about dead people.

Spiritual is 'spirited'. It means you are ALIVE, as opposed to just going through the motions. It means you feel and then act on the way the way you feel. As opposed to merely thinking and then reacting to situations. It also has positivistic "lets get some kicks while we're still alive" elements thrown in as well.

That's it. I refuse to talk about it anymore. I am not an atheist or an theist. I am a lover of wine womean and song. That is all.

By the way Rosie the pills were MDA I think I think but I can't be sure.

Spiritualized rocked it big time. The EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE was wonderful. It's the way Jason Spaceman can take you from sonic bliss to the crescendo in one moment as your body turns to mush and your head swims with glee.

And of course he has the best drug lyrics going today. "Sometimes get my breakfast right out of a bottle and sometimes I have it right off of a mirror" "I'm waiting for a time, when I can be without all these things that make me feel, this way all of the time" "Love in the middle of the afternoon, just me, my arm, my spike and a spoon" "The problem with the straight and the narrow is that I just keep falling off of the sides" That's just a few off the top of my head.

And after was delightful. Christmas lights, candles and two naked bodies strewn about a futon on the floor.

Sloth- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club opened up.

Spiritualized sounds like it was a good show. I remember seeing a great show there at the Showbox. BRMC would be fun too. Is the album selling well stateside?

Last night Linda bought me a ticket to Belle & Sebastien and we went to see it with a bunch of friends. The show was in Brixton which is like the South Central LA of London. I got off at the wrong tube stop and regretted it for a few minutes, until I did the right thing and bought some, um, stuff from the Jamaican natives which was a big hit in the bathroom at the show.

I have never been anywhere in England before where you could see the racial hatred in the eyes of the people. Whatcha doing here white boy? Oh shit. Want some smoke?

It should have been a good show. It really should have been. B&S played really well. But the wanking sound men ruined it. They didn't up the volume loud enough. People were shouting "Turn up the music". People asked my friends to leave because they were talking too loud. In my book if you can;t hear the music at a rock concert over the conversation than something is wrong.

I sent Linda to go talk to the sound guy who was literally ten yeards from where we were standing behind a metal fence. Can you turn up the music, no one can hear it, she said.

"What are you here for the beer or the music?" he asked. See what I mean he deserves to die? Then he said that Belle & Sebastien requested the concert be played at that level. Bullshit. I would love to kick that guy in the groin.

At least they played my two favorite songs, 'Boy with the Arab Strap' and the 'bah bah bah bah come out of the city and into the springtime' song.

Afterwards we went to a club in Soho where the music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other so we danced for a few hours and went home.

That is the last Belle & Sebastien concert I will ever go to. Image

Wow, that's some wild shit, Ooh. Sorry it
was so unpleasant. Yes that sound man
deserves...to be sent to a rural town in Mississippi forever.

being spiritual is cool. every few days or so i wake up in the morning and say to myself, "mb, your ass is spiritual." i look in the eyes of people i love and i see more than words can describe or money can buy. and that's cool too.

branding yourself as a spiritual-type person, in the marketplaces of public attraction and peronal relationships, is utterly uncool. i agree (as always) with mac and say all this tantric karma shit is for phonies. organized religion is for weak or foolish people. i am member of the church of what's happening now, baby. so there.
