Has anybody else read this? It's a book that's said to be by Anais Nin and friends. I got all excited last night because I went out of town and was in one of those jumbo book stores, and i love bookstores, jumbo or not, but I knew I'd be able to get my Anais fix, so I sat in the floor looking through all the books, and saw one in the Anais section that I'd never seen, so I bought it and hurried out to read it, and it doesn't seem to be written by her. Does anybody know if in fact she wrote any part of it? It does have an interesting Love's Encyclopedia, which states: "Fucking is an art. The mere fact of introducing the cock to the cunt and moving it in and out until the ejaculation of spunk is not art. True, it is fucking, but the difference between that way of doing it and the way it should be done, is like the difference between a child's first drawing and a painting by the world's greatest painter." That's good stuff, but it just doesn't sound like the other Anais I've read. So enlighten me if you know the deal on White Stains, please.

white stains. I love that. I think I'll name my next book that. It would be a great band name, a bit like white stripes, but ya know?
I'm doing white lines and my girlfriend is naked laying on the dried white stains. mmmm

Thanks Mr. Rabbit,
I went to Amazon and this is what they said:
"This collection of six sensual, yet explicit short stories is thought to have been written for an Oklahoma oil millionaire, Roy M. Johnson. Anais Nin is said to have been paid a dollar per page to produce typescripts of explicit erotica for his own private amusement. This facsimile reproduction also contains an explicit sex manual, Love's Cyclopaedia, originally published with the stories. The intorduction by Dr. C.J. Schiener tells the story of the book's first clandestine edition by New York publisher Samuel Roth during the 1940s and all the evidence for attributing this anonymous work to Anais Nin."
I still don't think she wrote it, and it seems open for debate since they say that Dr. C.J. Schiener attributes the book to her -- this is becoming a little mystery for me.
And MC, I agree, white stains sounds like a story waiting to be told
