McCutcheon, I read your poem. It helped me write one. I haven't done that in a long time. So this one's for you.
Blues
Are like a thousand thoughts
All of them in different hues
and shades.
So that they make shapes
on your heart
and dance around little shadows
when they're navy
and big soft clouds when they're baby.
In Williamsburg, faded.
In stained glass, jaded.
They are the colors
we run back to.
When we can't manage to see through
black or gray.
They are what red always bleeds
when it's true.
