this makes me soooo fucking sad. why do all the writers do this? I don't know. I'm having a beer for breakfast.....i remember an article in Loaded, when it used to be good and under James Brown's direction and he sent out two guys to meet Hunter.....and I read that and loved that and now I just don't give 2 shits and he was writing about football... the season is over and I always said I hate break ups when it ain't football season......I am sad......

"We all have demons," Ortega said. "Who knows, man? You sit down, have a few cocktails or maybe nothing — maybe you have a cup of green tea — and maybe nothing seems right. He was a little more complex than most of us, so maybe some of those demons surfaced and he didn't like what he saw."

Life is unfair. Why couldn't it have been Stephen King or Michael Chricton who had an irrational lack of self-worth?

so the only thing that makes me feel good about this in anyway. is that last night at around 2 AM when all of this was going down Larry called me drunk to tell me he loved me and that I reminded him of Ginsberg and that I should write more. I was up drinking a bottle of wine and if something like this has to happen id wanna tough through it with a random drunken call out of nowhere from a friend of 15 years

when the horrible thing happened larry and i were talking about paris and telling stories about the Beats. if its gotta go down somehow im glad for me it went down like that

You must all read his last published piece written for ESPN2. It was featured February 16th, days before his death. In it, Hunter talks about the Death of hockey and calls Bill Murray up at 3:30 in the morning (Hunter recorded the conversation and used it in his article) and proposes a bizarre new sport in which people try to shoot golf balls with shotguns before the golfer can drive it, or something to that nature. He asks for Bill's endorsement, though Murray appears tired and says very little (Bill Murray portrayed Thompson in a 1980 film). If I wasn't so computer retarded or lazy, I'd post the URL, so fuck it, find it yourself.

I find it interesting that anything Hunter S. Thompson does (did) or says (said), can be featured in any one of the Pax Acidus forums. Bizzare ending to a bizzare, but brilliant life.
