Lying Liars

Post by Tommy Martyn »

I bought the Al Franken book in paperback. I know full well that it was a case of preaching to the converted but I was seduced by the blurb for the paperback, "Now with new lies and new lying liars." I'm enjoying it. It won't tell you anything you don't already know. It will give you definitive examples for the times you get sucked into arguing the toss with republican blowhards.

Is anybody going to read that Kitty Kelly book on the Bush clan? I loved the one on Reagan years ago. she did a wonderful interview with Matt laurer on good morning america. He asked her who she would be voting for in the next election and she asked him the same question right back. He didn't like that. Fucker.

Tommy Gun is a Rebal

Post by mccutcheon »

It's funny. When Tommy was livin' in paradise left (seattle) he thought many views here were immature and niave. But now that he is in god fearin' heartnotwithstanding land of Bushie he has sort of leaned more toward us. To anyone who has seen the shit spwed by the far right knows what I know. Jesse Helms should have been hanged.

I'm listeing to Leonard Coehn 1970 and am not going home with my hard on. Or any on. But love.

A rebal? Is that someone who loves Reba McIntye, the talented singer /actress from the south? If it is, then hell yes I'm guilty as charged.

I read Lying Liars, Tommy. I liked it...although it proved that even with a team of researchers it is hard to get the true story on many political events. It seemed a bit more left than your usual taste Tommy. You'll have to let me know what you think about it.

I own the book and was into it for a while but then I felt it turned kind of petty and I lost interest. I think you'd really have to be a news spectator to really enjoy it. I don't even have cable so I was lost to who some of these dumb fucks were. but i guess Al was just trying to beat them down with facts. not as good of a read as ham on rye...

Hey Mc. When I lived in Seattle I was for the left. That is why I hate Clinton. Sad to say that he looks like the archangel compared to the current resident of 1600, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he was no friend of the poor. We could discuss the Clinton years all night. Let's pull one of his dumb decisions out of the bag. Hmmm. "Three strikes you're out." You couldn't dream of a more republican stance on crime if you tried.

Yes, and I can remember word for word the brilliant impassioned speech that Clinton gave aginst it. Before throwing his weight behind getting it thrown out.

"in the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silences of our friends."

Martin Luther King.
