Cutch's new Novel
Cutch's new Novel
Nothing like starting a novel with alot of music references and a fat guy wanking. Seriously, I think it's a good start, but I have one question...did you ever finish the other one? Not Burnt Roof, the one with the writer. I liked the first part that I read, but neverheard any more about it. Keep writing...have you noticed how many views NYC scribbles has? You're reaching cult status.

Books as objects
The one with the writer is half done. It is called Super Cool. But I got frustrated, as you can tell. Tour is 1/4 done. Burnt is all done, well except to be edited and published. Ya know, no big deal really. I'm at three stages of three novels and not one is where I want it to be. Books as objects. That is what I want.
MC and BF Jake,
If you ever really do want to take a tour of the south for whatever reason, please let me know. I'd be more than happy to take you to as many honky tonks as you desire -- however, I can't promise that you won't get into trouble. Women in the south are allowed to get away with a lot more in honky tonks, from what I've seen. But then again,in the Blue Rose, which is this very scummy bar, and fun, near Gulf Port, I saw one woman clear a table with another woman's backside. It wasn't pretty. I just stood there thinking, what in the world would make you want to do that. I believe it had something to do with a man -- go figure.
Also, MC, your Judy Blume poem is good.

Blue Rose. I know that bar.
Is there really a bar down there called the Blue Rose? In Burnt the bar in NJ, where Trevor and Mike hang out in is called the Blue Rose. If you tell me the guy who owns it is named Purdy than that would really be weird.
Thanks for the comments on the poem. It is Marky Silly Goose really.

I really like what you said about childhood "we like it because it is over". I have turned into a very nostalgic sort of person, and sometimes I try to change that about myself because it seems only partly rational. Reading what you wrote really helped me formulate my ideas about that.
The Judy Blume poem is cute, too. I think when you get around to telling your Bellvue story, you might just find you've done your best work ever.

Thanks Marky
God I hope that means I'm getting better. I'm watching Seinfeld on DVD and there was progress there.

a rose by any other name
Someone who read Burnt said to me that Blue Rose was too 'gay' a anme for the bar I was writing about in NJ, but if you tell me it is a biker bar, well than that is good enough for me. The biker bar in Burnt is called S.L. Slaughters.
