Caustic

Post by Eman Resu »

We exchanged words in lieu of thoughts and ideas. So much was in the air and left unsaid.
The temperature rose briefly after an exchange: a look in the eyes. Oh, words were spoken, I can guarantee that, as can the neighbors. The unsaid grew. Wonder of what may or may not have transpired is a simple thing to conquer. The speculation not of what may or may not have happened, but of what each party thought the other was assuming to speculate brought the words to a level so biting. Our words were truly caustic.

I never call her a cunt. She never calls me fucking dick. Words mean nothing. What's more important is the thought behind the words and moreover what thought process led up to this moment. We continued to exchange words. That goddamn little misunderstanding between us, my lady and I grew faster than we could even think of the next thing to say. It had a life of it's own that expanded on itself exponentially by the second.

Finally, this thing grew larger than we could ever have even imagined. It is translucent, not invisible. It is one large sinister plasmic evolving mass of black space and anti-matter. Soon it had devoured the entire apartment. This became the breaking point. I look into my girl's eyes and she into mine. My life flashes before my eyes. She looks more evil than my 5th Grade speech therapist. I knew at that moment, we had to do something. This is the final chance to break free and send this mass away before one of Tom Ridge's fear sensors picks something up on the grid.

So, I look at my girl square in the eyes. I stare deep. She may kill me, I think. I take one deep breath and reach for her hand. The look grows more intense. We're getting close to code red here. I ask for the floor. She extends her hand and raises an eyebrow.

“Okay, I begin, “if it's going to come to this---

“To what? To your insane rants—â€?

I cut her off now, “please. There is silence and more looks. “I've made my decision. You can have the last beer in the fridge. I'll go buy some more.

And so the situation resolves.

-anon. (at the moment) will revert.

Chapter II: Bought the Wrong Brew

Out of Black Butte: 86'd … substitute
Really want some wine,
is it too late to switch?
I know my old lady, know she won't bitch
Still, decisions are tough as I walk down the aisle
Indecision sets in
how I wish there was vodka
Tonic or soda, with a lime and the ice.

I break into a sweat.
Fuck it.

Back home, here it is: some kind of ale
Reason for purchase: bought it on sale

This will not do, no, this will not suffice

I look to my girl, “hurry up w/ that beer
I'm taking you out, let's get out of here.

“Where to? she asks, but still only sips

“Down to L.A. with the Bloods and the Crypts…

she snears.
she rolls her eyes.

So it's off now, to our favorite Pub.
