Burnt Face Jakes Poem

Post by Sloth »

Here it is, our own Burnt Face Jake's poem submission.

I think everybody on the board except McCutcheon has figured out how to do it by now. Funny thing was I did it all for him.

Good one, Jake. As I've said, I'm not usually one for poetry, and many of them just confuse me, but this one of yours is descriptive, paints a picture and shows emotion and thought.

And ok, the photo that is posted with it enhances the poem with it's imagery. i guess the picture post thing is good.

wow, thanks a lot everybody. The pax interactive is great. it's good to see the site bringing writers together and creating a forum for literary discussion and expression. we all have voices, and it's good to be heard...

i normally dislike most poetry, especially the stuff that can be found here, but i think bfj's thingy is really, really good.

just a tweeny wish though: how about correcting the spelling?

i used to always watch this episode of "peanuts" where Charlie Brown is in the spelling bee and he walks around repeating "i before e, except after c." Which really is a shitty rule that has more loopholes in it than the U.S. Justice System and so I spelled "seize" wrong. Anyway Charlie Brown loses the spelling bee because he can't spell "beagle" and you know Snoopy's a beagle so it really pisses him off and he continues to self-loathe. I really do like "peanuts."

Don't worry; I didn't notice... I can't spell. I'm also really crap at grammer - I'm guessing I shouldn't have changed my major from nursing to English eh!

I'm so glad so many of you have not lost the ability to write. I myself cannot do it anymore.

bukowski says the hardest thing about righting is getting in the chair to do it. I think you can write again jack, aside from screenplays, i hadn't written anything in like 4 years. then i wrote the poem i just posted and now my pen is teeming. my adivice, look at yourself and your shortcomings, loads of subject material there, not saying anything about you jack, just true for all of us. that should be a little something to get you going. then you can start writing about important things like hot dogs and boners... when do you come in this weekend. will be up in cedarburng from 8 until i leave, depending on if i have someone to get a drink with.
