new york times crossword had a clue, " the symbolism of rosebud. isn't this from citizen cane. isn't that the last thing that is said and was it his name in childhood? i think the answer is sled. aah! i'm so confused. help?

Its his sled. Rosebud was the name of his sled and I think it refers to the fact that all men rue the day they lose their innocence.

I had a similar experience as a child when I realized I could not stay in the rainforest with the rest of the sloths, but had to evolve into an alcoholic drugtaking webmaster of diaster.

No no no, Rosebud was the name Jerry Garcia gave his electric guitar towards the end of his overweight drug stupified life. There was an emblem of a skeleton holding a rose on the face of the guitar.
