Boots For Dancing!

There was a Scottish post-punk band called Boots For Dancing that had members of Josef K I think. I believe this is circa 1980-81. Maybe '82? And I am playing this one song they did called "Boots For Dancing" and it sounds EXACTLY LIKE EARLY GANG OF FOUR! I LOVE IT! I've got a record of them too.

Even John Peel's voice comes on a few times on this CD I made of this band called Boots For Dancing that virtually no one on earth has heard of. That makes me so happy and calm. If John Peel's voice just can be heard every once in awhile, you know you're in good hands. He had them do at least one Peel Session.

Boots For Dancing. The band no one in their right mind would have heard of, and Marky knows them. What a surprise.

OH MY GOD

I've pulled out my one and ONLY record of them! It's a 12" on Pop Aural records (quite a famous label post-punk wise anyway) and wouldn't you know the A-Side is that Gang of Fourish song called "Boots For Dancing"! I love it! It's from 1980.

Oh my god I almost spilled white wine on my computer. Jesus christ.

But the thing is it says "distributed by Fast Product" which likely means nothing to anyone on this board but that was a legendary post-punk Scottish record label, I am serious.

I love to brag that I have a record like this!!!!!

BECAUSE I LOVE POST-PUNK!!!!

Up yours.

signed with love,

Next up I'm going to play my other unheard-of favourite post-punk band. They were called the Dangerous Girls but I have no evidence that there were even any females in the band. I love the singer's voice. They were so unorthodox. I can't wait!! AHRRRGH!!!

Marky's tour of the best of obscure post punk!
