The Soft Boys (Robyn Hitchcock's early band)

Post by marky »

I am not drunk. I am not crazy. It's going to be alright. I am not losing my mind. I will not post anything I will regret in the morning. No sir.

I love the Soft Boys. Robyn Hitchcock's early band from the late 70's. They sound better than they did to me 15 years ago. Wow. I am a happy camper. "Invisible Hits" was my favourite album of theirs (hearing it again for the first time in about 15 years now) but even "Underwater Moonlight" sounds so much better to me now that I've been so into post punk era music. Although it's true they didn't really follow the fashion of the time. They attempted to incorporate 60's psychedelia into their rock and roll at a time when it wasn't at all fashionable.

I mean just listen to the Soft Boys song "Rock and Roll Toilet" and tell me that isn't some prime rock and roll.

Do you understand how much it pisses me off that I no longer have the first Robyn Hitchcock album on vinyl or even any format at all?
