Did I mention I've got a plane ticket to go see them in San Diego the day before my birthday a few months from now?

I'm dead serious.

Yes I really did buy a plane and concert ticket on my credit card when I was drunk. But do I regret it? Not really. For a couple of reasons: I said I would do anything to go see the Who (or really Pete Townshend) but when they came here I didn't have any money at all and I knew it would be very expensive, and just like when New Order came here before Get Ready came out, I HAD NO IDEA HOW GOOD THE NEW WHO ALBUM WOULD BE. Just like New Order - I had no idea how good Get Ready would be when they came here, so I didn't bother. I mean they hadn't been good for many years, then.

And the DVD that comes with this CD along with the reports I've heard from others have convinced me that they are very good live, still.

This is just something I have to do. I couldn't bear it otherwise. Pete Townshend has meant far too much in my musical life to never see him. And who knew this album was going to be such a blinder?
