Bulletin Board of Bad Behavior

Feels strange, me sticking up for Bob Dylan. My friend in Glasgow hates him with a passion, and normally he'd be way too American for my musical tastes, but somehow Dylan is on my mind right now. It's really weird.

And I have another book coming in the post to me about the history of Manchester music from 1955-1995 it's called Shake Rattle and Roll by C. P. Lee - I knew who this guy was, but I didn't know he had a book out, I'm so excited. I bet he has much to say on Martin Hannett!! And I bet he will tell the story of the Bee Gees too. Yes!!

Look the irony and connection is this - Dylan did his "going electric" concert in Manchester, I only found this out recently that the concert he did in 1966 where he went electric guitar and upset so many people was done in FOOKIN' MANCHESTER, MATE!!!! And then I was like "okay this is really weird because I just pulled out that cassette the other day..."

You can get it on CD as a double CD it says 1966 Royal Albert Hall if I'm not mistaken. Just think, a venue that the Beatles sang about in "Day In The Life":

"Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall/I'd love to turn...you...on...."

Anyway never mind, just get friendly with Joy Division and watch your life improve immeasurably.

I walked all the way to the CD shop to get two Bob Dylan CD's. I ran part of the way cause I knew they closed in 45 minutes. When I got there they were playing Dylan inside the shop. But I denied it to myself and assumed I must be imagining it. Then when I got the register the guy asked me what I thought of "THIS Bob Dylan?" I said "what?" He said "the Bob Dylan playing now" and I said I liked it and it was weird that he was playing. And the guy said that what we were hearing was a new Bob Dylan album out on Tuesday. The guy said it wasn't as bad as he thought it might turn out. I said I didn't know he was having anything new out, he'd just been in my thoughts more and more over the last month.

Is the new Bob Dylan album "Modern Times" really the best selling album in the US right now? I'm tripping, ya'll. I be tripping.

Do they sell it on vinyl, McC? The new Bob Dylan? Why has Kate Bush thrown me a Bob Dylan curse, that's all I want to know?

Okay here, this explains it, I found this off Wikipedia:

Isn't that fucking crazy? It's on the CD case and everything! And the CD didn't even come out til 1998!

Anyway I'm glad you brought that up McC cause it always kindof bothered me, I mean why would a "royal" anything be located in Manchester? Also didn't seem right that the Beatles would be singing about it.

Also I found out yesterday that the Ballard library has fucking plants on the roof!! I'm not lying!! It's cool as shit! They planted grass on the fucking roof. I love environmentally conscious Seattle! It's got you know, those things that capture the sunlight for solar energy/power, those plates/window things. And grass. (too bad it's not THAT kind of grass haha)

This is weird because when I went record shopping today I parked right by that library in the picture.

Anyway, I think I've figured out what my fave Bob Dylan song is right now. "One Of Us Must Know (Sooner or Later)". It's on Blonde On Blonde. But to be honest, I'm not sure I can get into the whole of that album, something kindof happens in the middle where I get tired of the traditional blues style of it and I start to get bored. I'll keep trying though, but I prefer the first half of it.
