goodbye, paxacidus

Post by martino »

this bulletin board used to be such a splendid place. one person posted something witty and then another responded in a funnier fashion. it was like a game, with the ball flying back and forth. and it was international and lively: when it did, the ball flew over thousands of miles.

quite frankly, i think that is no more. now, people post something and that's it. when somebody responds it often enough has absolutely nothing to do with the original topic. it's just a lot of hobbies and pet peeves posted next to each other.

take, as an example, the book club. one of tony's many fine ideas. how many people posted anything? how many people even read the damn book?

even mc is basically limiting his writing to his own blog.

so i say, goodbye. it was a wonderful place for starting a kind of friendship while it lasted. i congratulate sloth and mc for creating this, and say thank you for the great times together that you made possible. i am gone but my invitation to anybody who would like to pay me a visit in germany stands. (phone me at +4969 498110).

all the best, and my warmest regards
m

aye, the creators of the BB rarely talk with anyone else on the board, but i guess that's all a measure of interest. so long martino, i will look you up if i am lucky enough to get to germany.

Sorry to see you go, Martino. Your opinions and topics have been the most interesting ones, in many cases. And of course, you bring part of that "international flair" that is so necessary for a bb with the aspirations that this one has.

Check back in from time to time...perhaps the pendulum will swing back in a direction that you'd be interested in following.

It's been good reading your opinions and observations. I wish you the best in everything you do.
