After the best part of a year and many thousands of dollars in legal fees, my wife has put the brakes on. She wants to patch things up. I can't believe it. I have been seeing someone else for over six months. The missus just thinks that I'll come back. The girlfriend thinks that if there is any chance of a reconcilliation then I should go for it, because it would be what the children would want. I didn't think she would say that. ( I dreaded telling her I had been approached by my wife.) It does feel really strange though. For the longest time I was the one being got rid of and now if someone is going to break up the family then it is going to be me.
It's hardly the stuff of a first rate novel but when you're in it these things feel different.
My son and his attention defecit behaviour problems continue to throw up challenges. Again, hardly the stuff of high drama in a time of war, but we live the lives placed in front of us.
Is Mav married then? Congrats.
Sloth, I just finished reading an article in Vanity fair about the file sharing pirates of Sweden. I'm sure this story is old hat to you. Wouldn't it be great if a gang of nerdy upstarts batter the movie business so that tithead losers like (fill in wanker actor name of your choice) can no longer command millions of dollars for a couple of months pretending.
I love the TV show Extras. Anyone else seen it?
McC did you see Liverpool beat Barca away?
Like anyone cares section..... St Helens rugby league club won all domestic competitions last year losing only four games all season (by 4 points,3 points, 2 points and 1 point respectively) They were voted team of the year by the BBC and their coach, Darren Anderson, was named coach of the year. Last week they played a game against the australian champions, the Brisbane Broncos. Entering the game as massive underdogs tehy fell behind by 8 points. Like a disney movie though, they kept clawing their way back eventually taking a 18 - 14 lead to the final whistle. That's the lot then, domestic and international champs. The result came through here Friday afternoon. Friday night I wore my vintage Saints shirt down the pub and got fucking shitfaced.
When I do go out it is invariably to watch friends bands. Check 'em out they must have myspace pages Carrie Clara, Goose, Tonefarmer and Happy Chichester.

Hahaha oh my god, that is rich, Tommy, about the wifey. Hell, and about the other lady too. I do believe there could be a great novel in all this.
Also you seemed to have hit the nail on the head as a statement of our times here:

Technology has proven to be the great leveller. Just look at YouTube to figure out why. Now, when a site like that has hopelessly osbscure bands on it (and by god, despite my stubborn expectations, I'm proven wrong more often than my cynicism will admit) I know something very wonderful is happening...Wouldn't it be great if a gang of nerdy upstarts batter the movie business so that tithead losers like (fill in wanker actor name of your choice) can no longer command millions of dollars for a couple of months pretending.
