Damnit Pixie I know I need to call you but I'm not pissed enough yet. I ran out of beer. And then the worst part was I fell asleep from 12 pm to 4 pm on a fucking Sunday afternoon. Isn't that terrible? What a way to ruin your Sunday. I think it was cause it's been all sunny today outside. So it's 5 pm now so I should start sobering up but instead I'm going to get more beer. I'm listening to Negativland over the internet. Oh shit. That's bad. Wow, they're playing X-Ray Spex. Anyone here know that punk band called X-Ray Spex with the girl singer? I was never a big fan but this sounded good.

Okay well I am going to email you now Pixie. Hmm.

There is a design on the side of the Natural Ice cans that looks like vinyl grooves going around. You think I'm kidding. I figured this out a long time ago. It will be sad when they decide to change their design.

Okay I emailed you Pixie.

I'm listening to Can's Tago Mago album now and "Halleluwah" is so funky it could put James Brown to shame.

I mean where do you think Stone Roses got their ideas for "Fool's Gold"?

I'm proud of myself that I didn't go all crazy about Sister Sledge and Manchester music again like I usually do on Sundays. Especially when I don't remember things and then call people drunk. I never put my Sister Sledge CD/LP away. I've learned not to put those away cause they always come out again.

I got a call from someone who played Blue Monday though. I figured this was a call from McC, but I concede it COULD be a Pixie item. I wasn't sure.

I wonder if you believe in punk rock?

Oh my god this Can really gets weird after awhile. They do all these tribal drums that put you in a trance, and now they've gone all trippy and psychedelic on me. This is insane music, really insane. And classic of course.

I can see people who might say "Can is my religion" because they would likely be right. I usually put on Ege Bamyasi so to put myself through Tago Mago is amazing.

There would be no Fall without Can. Etc etc. This is classic, "seminal" stuff here. Okay shut up already Mark.

Yeah I will put on Runaways again in a minute here and try to get back from psychedelic hell.

Or I might put on the B.E.F. which means British Electric Foundation which was what two members of the early Human League broke off from the Human League to record.

I think they became Heaven 17 after that, but I'm not totally sure.

My book here tells me I'm right, though, they went on to be Heaven 17.

Well at LEAST I'm not boring you with endless tripe about Led Zeppelin! Give me some credit! Hahahahahahaa

I guarantee this is the weirdest bunch of instrumental electronic music you've ever heard.

They went on to become Heaven 17 but there was a lot of psychedelic electro trance on this amazing album. From 1981.

What a wonderful thing to play after Can's Tago Mago. I feel blessed.

Pixie I haven't ruled out calling you but I'll probably do it late tonight. I'm imagining 9:30 and it isn't pretty.

There's actually a special significance to the fact that I mentioned "9:30" but I can't go into it now.

I don't even have their second album in the mail yet. I'm going to die.

"Queens of Noise" yeah that's my favourite song of them so far. And that's the name of the second album but I don't even have it yet. Oh the suspense.

Oh god.
