Knock me out kind of day

Post by bfj »

I don't think I've posted in a couple (decided not to post just now and see if Mccutcheon wants to get a pint... no answer so I'll keep posting) months but sometimes you take a lot of time taking everything in and then it all sort of hits you on a Friday evening.
Just got off the phone with a very dear friend who, at the age of 20, has put herself into rehab...she's become an alcoholic. haven't seen her in four years but that's some tough growing up...age 17 rehab for bulemia, age 18 an abortion. age 19 fall in love and proceed to become an alcoholic.
Though I can't say my last four years have been any easier what with divorce, alcoholic, ****-***********, mental-breakdown (not a full one), and falling in love.
But i guess if we look back at any period in our life and say "how was that?" we find quite a bit, and if we look back and say (mccutcheon called back to say he was to hungover to have a pint) life was pretty dull during that period then we probably have bigger problems than we could imagine.
I'd like to look back at four years and say life got better, wait a minute...life did get better.
I keep being asked to write a movie, and the director i work for keeps asking me what kind of movie i think i have in me. I need to set it kind of rural so we can shoot it on the cheap. I keep coming up with "badlands" I don't seem to want to dig into my past and start getting that stuff on paper. all the good stuff started happening after i met mccutcheon, and no, i don't think it was mccutcheon, that's also around when i got out of high school and soon after out of wisconsin. but that would make a decent cheap movie mc, me, you, and ******. as sort of a rushmore kind of style meets beautiful girls. for some reason the weather that went on during that period sticks with me more than than the emotions. i've always wanted to get that on film. This has gotten too long for anyone to read.
ciao
