who's round?

i am, a little bit at least, around the waist.

moving my ass more just makes me more muscular everywhere else. is a guy entitled to a bit of pot? and is a belly on a lady sexy sometimes? i think so.

lipophobia is not really a function or health, and not necessarily a question of aesthetics. when we fear becoming a fatty, it means we abhore the social and class significance of a round body silhouette: only proles are plump. i think i am gonna break out of that body-image trap and do a brando. meet me on my island. cheers!

down with spelling mistakes!

is because you ain't seen me naked. and i have been lucky enough to be able to skip the obligatory pax acidus tennis match because i truly suck at tennis nowadays. i am good enough at touch football and find ring tennis amusing for playing with children but anything that involves competition with grown up male humans makes me just too miserable for words. lipophobia is fear of fat which might be a nice chapter's name for one of your upcoming books. i do not fear fat unless it is on my own body and i think some of these diets such as the south beach are remarkably effective, see b. clinton, but also remarkably unhealthy, see b. clinton. what does remarkable marky have to say about this topic, i wonder. ha!, how about this pubbish stream-of-conscience rubbish!

I don't know about Mark, but I think stream of consciousness rules, especially here at the Pax. Because everyone seems to have a very unique consciousness.

McC-liked your NYC scribbles with the tennis player things, like "what kind of fish doesn't swim?...Mardy Fish", and "Elmer Fudd Davenport". It's your wittiest writing yet...if the reader knows who the hell you're talking about. Thanks for bringin up my lack of overhead slam too, fuckhead...now everyone can exploit my weakness in the big PaxAcidus Open, whenever that is. That reminds me, as long as this is stream of consciousness, Sloth, we should play sometime soon, before I get round in the middle like Martino and McC.

In keeping with the spirit of pub talk, all entries should begin, "and another thing." It is also OK to refer to the subject under discussion as "wossname." Never bothering to reveal what or whom wossname is. All the while assuming the meaning is abundantly clear. If discussing a member of the gender you are attracted to it is important to take time out to state whether you would shag them or not, who would enjoy it the most or how much one of the parties would have to stump up to make the event a reality.

Great lessons, Tommy. A couple more and I'll be ready for a proper blether.

(did I use that term right?)

...and another thing. While wossname is up getting another pint, you've seen his sister, know?
Right, sure as fucking day becomes night I'd have that lass up in me lap. She's brilliant, know, but ah' can't say for certain it would ever happen.
She's really got to lose the goiter ef she really wants it to happen, know?

Hey, I'm in the pub and I'm not drinking. Maybe I shouldn't be here. But wait...I'm hungover, so that counts. I can be here.

Martino, I don't know what's more disturbing - the fact that your original post sounded so eerily similar to my own thoughts of late (which is why I deliberately avoided responding to it in the first place), or that you actually had to go and mention me in regards to this topic.

I have indeed been worrying about my middle. Now, I'm no huge butterball, but it is true that I've gained weight in the past year in the abdominal region, and I would like to lose some pounds. I have been jogging (for about 30 min.) at least twice a week since April, and I don't eat any dinner on the days I work and stay sober. But I think the other days of the week are keeping me from losing weight, despite the fact that I go jogging more than twice a week lately. I know some chronic alcoholics that are skinny as rails but I think they're just skinny people no matter what they do. My dad was pretty huge, so already I don't have good genes to work with. I figure when I get back in school in a few weeks here it will be easier, though.

I don't want to lose weight so much for attractiveness reasons but more for health. It *is* healthier to be thinner for many reasons. Can't they just make a kind of alcohol that has no calories and pot that doesn't make you want to eat?

marky, alcohol has never made me want to eat.
But in regards to losing weight you know maybe your body is just used to the jogging and you need to add more variety to whatever it is you do.

Of course, for a female perspective on men with a little more around the middle .... it's sexy as all hell. I like men with meat on their bones who are comfy to cuddle with.

Keep in mind there's a difference between comfy and squishy ... I mean... if you're like... far to large for your frame then... that's different.

Well eventually alcohol does make me want to eat, or at least drink fruit juice, because it lowers your blood sugar. But even if it didn't, it has so many calories in and of itself...

This is better than Belgian Waffles

and another thing that Tom, he is fucking spesh an make no mistake. The only bloke in Pax acidus history who had to put on the pounds to make it to middle weight. (In boxing, is middleweight about 168 pounds?)

I'm no longer round in the middle and have not been on a diet. During the big move I had to live with my in-laws for over two months. I didn't go to the pub. Not once. I arrived weighing in somewhere in the mid 180's and currently hover around low 170's.

The real eye opener though was I thought all my podge was beer belly. I was shocked how much of the weight was spread around the rest of me. My mum-in-law noticed my face gettng thinner. So the bad news is you've got fat all over . The good news is, if you focus on your gut then by the time you get rid of it you will look like Brad Pitt. Or if you work really hard - me.
