Soundtracks

Post by mccutcheon »

Does anyone know a good site to find film soundtracks? I mean to find the songs from a movie? In the Dreamers there was a song that sounded just like the Doors but I had never heard it before. How do I track (sic) this down?

Cool

Cool thanks brother.

But here is the problem. Below is the track listing and the song I'm talking about isn't The Spy. I'm really getting on a big Doors kick again. It happends about every five years or so. Sat what you will about Morrison but he was fucking sexy and had more than enough of the Pax Acidus in him. (they didn't mention that in the film- I blame Mr. Stone for the oversight) And why hasn't the song Queen of the Highway ever been used to support this great country of ours? 'American boy, American girl, the most beautiful people in the world..dancing to the midnight whirlpool' Whoooo! I will fuck my brains out to that!!!!

Anyway this was a great soundtrack except for the fucking actors in the movie doing a cover of Hey Joe. On the DVD they even made a video. Why can't people just stick to what they are good at- getting their dicks out and shagging sexy French women? That version had me and thinking, Moi, je regrette tout. Ain't that right Edith.

1. Third Stone from the Sun - Jimi Hendrix

2. Hey Joe - Michael Pitt/The Twins of Evil

3. Les Quatre Cents Coups - Jean Constantin

4. A Bout de Souffle - Martial Solal

5. Love Me Please Love Me - Michel Polnareff

6. La Mer - Charles Trenet

7. Song for Our Ancestors - Steve Miller Band

8. The Spy - The Doors

9. Tous Les Garcons et Les Filles - Francoise Hardy

10. Pierrot Le Fou - Antoine Duhamel

11. Dark Star - Grateful Dead

12. Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien - Edith Piaf

Have any of you seen the Aussie film Garage Days? Well don't. It really sucks, but the soundtrack is great. What does that say about a movie...okay shit films with great soundtracks? Or let's start with The Best Soundtracks of all time?

The song I'm thinking of is the second half of Maggie M' Gill. It's a song in 2 parts and goes 'I'm the son of a rock and roll star, mom meet dad in the back of a rock and roll car.'

Morrison Hotel is so underrated- open up the gatefold and there is Jim sitting at the bar with a beer in hand and his cock is clearly visable through his trousers. Cool.

The Doors influence The White Stripes and The Cure.

Indian Summer, the version covered by Luna and Sonic Boom writtten by Beat Happening. What a great indie rock song. But not as great as Beat Happening's Our Secret. That is one great song.
