New York Scribbles

Post by mccutcheon »

I'm starting a new New York City on line journal. A Pax Acidus exclusive. Here is the first installment.

So I went to 110th and Columbus to check out where I used to live today, and where I wrote V.D. The building is gone. There is just a big hole in the ground with barbed wire around it. The area is changing fast. It used to be a rough neighborhood where if you had white skin and blue eyes you were a minority, and while passing another Caucasian on the street you would make ever so slight eye contact, you wouldn't acknowledge them, but you were reassured to see them all the same, like the looks I've seen black folks give to each other when they are caught in white bread suburbia hell. Someday all New Yorkers are gonna look like Derek Jeter, just not as handsome or athletic. And that's fine by me. So anyway I walked around, still pretty much the only white person, but No Man's Land, which I called it in the story, and is now referred to as North Upper West Side or Manhattan Valley is getting the gentrification makeover. Ten years ago when they revamped the street the gunshots sort of stopped, according to an article in this week's NY Times. (J Dog- our favorite Wisconsin translplant doesn't seem to have his colum anymore. Either he is making money off his books or went completely blind.) Columbia is buying up the buildings in an attempt to keep some of the students around.

I like writing in NYC. I feel there has been a new chapter turned in my life and that being a New Yorker will give me renewed energy. I always got my best ideas while running, or just plain walking around. And New York has plenty of stimulation on offer. Plus it is nice to live back in a place I actually like. I never cared for the city of Seattle. I liked it because some of the dearest people in the world to me live there. Awe. Blush, blush.

Then I went to check out other places like the video store I worked at. It has all changed. And my old friend Jesus doesn't work there anymore. Jesus wanted to be a soccer player, and if Man U didn't want him he would have settled for playing in the American league. The problem was he wasn't any good. Not even as good as me and I only made it to the lowest level in the Paris league. When we played in Central Park and other places his peer group would make fun of him for hanging around a bitch ass gringo. I only got to play because I was better than their Speedy Gonzalez street moves. What Jesus was good at was selling small amounts of pot on the street corner of 86th and Broadway to the Baldwins and other celebs. He did this because his older brother Manny made him. Manny was tough and I only went to their house in the Bronx once. When Rudy Giuliani was mayor he made the New York City cops get out and walk their beats. He put a police force presence on the streets. I hope Jesus isn't playing soccer in the San Quinton league.

So I had lunch with Mav's main squeeze today. She is in town staying with a woman named Dorkus. I kid you not, even though I have been know to kid her when it comes to her name. Given the fact that Dorkus is a strong willed lesbian I'm happy she doesn't beat me up. Me and Mav's woman met up at 42nd and Broadway, Times Square the capital of Capitalism. It even rivals Hong Kong. They have everything you need that can be bought or sold. And if you can't find it there; look on Canal St. But if you want to see Brittany not baring her breast on MTV look up and she might be in a little FCC approved outfit.

I bought an Oasis 12 in the clearance bin for $5. It has a live version of Columbia. Also in the clearance bin was the 12 Erlend Qye's Sudden Rush. Also for $5. So I bought that too. And not in the discount section, but the everyday over priced area was the limited edition double vinyl of Back To Mine by Death In Vegas. I love the Back series and have many of them including Tricky, Orb, Orbital, New Order and Underworld. I hope they do a Primal Scream one soon. Oh did I mention the Scream Team, well I got the CD single of Some Velvet Morning with Two Lone Swordsmen Remix and a video. Now I wanted the 12 right, but that wouldn't come with the video, and besides they didn't have it!!! What? And since I don't want the rip off I can't go to Canal St. What's a person to do in this day and age? I know. Buy it online with a credit card. Cool.

Oh and some of you might be like why the fuck is he keeping an on line journal. Well because I want to and it's my web site. Don't like it, don't look. Kinda like everyone does with our stories in the first place. But I promise my show won't be FCC approved. I even bought the star nipple thingy off Janet and made it into a cock ring. And if I ever meet Brittany I promise I'll spike her drink, oh wait, she is a partier all on her own, and we'll get it on. She did so in Vegas, why not on Pax Acidus.

Tuesdays sports day and Friday soccer down the pub day are the two days I miss. As well as all the dearest people in the world to me. Awe. Blush, Blush.

It was great seeing Tracy. Dorkus didn't come, can't change the spelling now, or names have been changed to protect the badly named. Jesus' name was pronounced 'Hay-Zues'. Like a sneeze.

I fly back to Sconnie today and will be there for a few days with Amanders. Jack give a shout if you are around. I'd like to buy you a beer. And speaking of Sconnie, J Dog- Jim Kiempfel doesn't have his Slack Jaw colum anymore, but he still writes little pieces on the Residents. And another Jim from Wisconsin you should check out who made his way in the Big Apple is musician James Chance. He's cool in a John Lurie meets Ganf of Four way.

Hope someday some other kid from Wisconsin, who was beat and abused by the locals growing up, and even at the age of 34 cringes when they think of high school, gets out and comes to New York. And he or she will say, hell if McCutchein did it so can I. He even lived in Grafton. New York is full of these people who escaped small town surroundings, and I like them greatly. Especially the Druggy Slutty Girls.

I think I've figured out the mystery behind Eyes Wide Shut, not that it was much of a mystery or even that good of a film. But a great film director made it and it deserves numerous viewings. Also the fact that it has gorgeous girls smoking dope, oding, and fucking, and basically walking around naked isn't a bad thing either. The DVD is great; you can skip to any scene- for your viewing pleasure or just pleasure. Now that I'm back at my parent's house I can watch it in their home theathre with the lights turned low and whiskey on the rocks.

Soto the mystery…See I know my models areolas from an ass in the ground. And that is the key. I've always thought that the woman that Tommy Boy (that would be Mr. Top Gun to you Mav) saved from an overdose at the beginning was the one who tried to help him. But no. It was the tall one from the two lip stick lesbo-combo models from the Christmas party, the taller one at least, as I bet they all weren't really model size because of the smallness of Mr. Top Gun (that's for you Mav) or else Stanley Kubric had done a fancy trick ala that fat bloke Peter Jackson from the Hobbits trilogy, ya know what I mean? Making the hobbits look so small and all compared to the humans of middle earth. If you thought that the hobbits were really that small well then check out 50 First Dates staring egghead whose little ditties suck Sandler and I just lost twenty pounds when I was becoming the poster child of normal girls weights Drew Barrymore. According to the People cover at the airport this morning people used to call her fatso when she was young. Oh yeah Drew, who was that? The food servers who worked the catering on ET? I don't know more because I can't afford People. I have to save my money for MOJO. But what I meant was that Sam the gay hobbit who married a hobbit chick even though his passion was devoured by Frodo, ya know unrequited love is a bitch- anyway that Sam guy has a role in this new shit romantic comedy staring Adam and Drew, as a quirky bodybuilder with a lisp. Boy that is funny. I've just ripped my shark's tooth stitches right out. Funny funny. So okay ya got me. I did pay $10.50 to see this shit. But anyway I could tell which girl was who from their tits. And believe it or not I didn't even pause it more than twenty times and only went through one box of tissues. It's great to be back at the parents.

So New York Scribbles the on line Pax Acidus journal of New York City is going to be posted unedited. First come first served. I'll probably get pissed at my lack of ability to capture the moment (which is really the point in the first place) but bear with me. And if ya can't stand the bare- than don't look.

Eyes Wide Shut. It's taken me awhile to cum around to it. But after many tisuues and the fact that I can now get over the fact that everyone is over acting I think it is a great piece of cinema. The very last word of the film is 'fuck'

Maybe it's Stan's masterpiece. My papa thinks so. But he thinks that about a lot of people's last works. The fact that my papa is in his 60's might have somthing to do with it. The fact that he is in better shape than me and at the moment has a smaller waist line, maybe not. Not to mention my papa spends his time traveling the world 10 months out of the year-with my mum mind you- been married for longer than I've been alive- which when you think of it, me being the first child and all- is a good thing, says maybe no that ain't the reason at all.

So fuck it. Sorta like Four Weddings and a Funeral, in that Brit flick which i adored ya cheeky monkey the first fifty words were 'fuck and fuck it'.

Genius.

Sloth just told me that my on line journal is a bit like a blog. I think I've read about these things and heard about them on NPR but I still don't get what it is really. Rabbit, help. Don't you do a blog? But we are going to start a new forum here.

In my stupid confussion I forgot to say thanks, so thank you Lunalee for your kind words. Yeah we will be close, I'm on 18th between 2nd and 1st. Right now Marky is going "oh my gawd, how can he be giving out all this information over the internet?"

I just watched Freida. That was a great movie, rarely does a movie turn me on, inspire me and make me want to cry all at once. Those damn artists. And for the last five years I've wanted to see Salma Hyak in a full frontal mixed race lesbian love scene and now I have.

Fuck me have I forgotten to write? Fuck know. I"ve just been too busy and I don't have an internet connection. so fuck a duck in a truck and what the fucking is playing on the tv whre I'm writin this, it's a frisday night and i"m paying...so what is on the tv?? huh, huh, well let me tell you. It is the Suns form the evil heat against the not so super sonics from Seattle. What the fuck? it's all a reminder of my resent past. And Brett you are probably asking wqhat I really really think of the new Yankke sistuation. well, I'm amets fan.

so much more to write but my buzz is dissipitating and I can't spell anymore, good bye for now scribbles.
Oh yeah, now I can always edit. But I'm not sure what I think opf this function. I mean it's grea that we can do that but what the fuck is originol. I guees any correction I can make on my prose will always be a good thiong. (or ladies thong)

the girls in NYC are, well what are they, I'm reminded of a short filom made by Hal Hartely, it's not the Uber cool, one ( see Martino I do know some German) but well what are the hot hip new york chicks like? well let's just say they are inspiring. I've seena beautiful blond walk into an Irish pub in the middle of the day, that's a lie, it was more toward thenearly part of the day, not yet noon, and order a Irish coffe. i know this because I was on mh third Guinness propping upmthe bar and watching a Turkish Team defeat Parma in Parma and it was all snowe and they even used an orange ball. and then tonight I saw this girl walk into the Pita place I was buying diner and she grabbed three beers and she was so beautiful...is there a theme here, hmm , maybe, see when I was only a lad the girls I knew growing and were sort of pretty were also sort of boring, they would drink lite beer and they would be fine with a kiss instread of a fuck, I always though it was their lack of drinking that lead to teir pruitian thoughts, but who knows. and also so this lead to my love of very beautiful girls getting drunk in the middle of the day and who are fucked up and feeling sexy and want to fuck while the rest of the world goes about it's normal businees. I guees if I refelecvt on it I'm just looking for the equvilant of me to spend the rest of our days drinking and fuckking our lives away..and that might be sad, but what isn't?
