I can't help but feel responsible for the sudden ill turn that this bulletin board has taken. Notice how only two or three people post these days? Shit, Sloth doesn't even post anymore. We've strayed from the old literature, drugs, and music topics to personal problems, meaningless banter, and drunken jargon (and I'm to blame). No longer will I post anything about my own personal problems. For a guy who thought he lost his ego a long time ago, I have been posting nonsense as of late. Tonight I've been getting my courage on in the form of, ironically, rossi wine to attend this party I was invited to. So I sat in my apartment consuming the wine, listening to Roger McQuinn, and envisioning the swirling swirling swirling, much like a toilet, of my life. I was so much happier when I didn't give a shit about anything, and that must now be rekindled.

Before you're so quick to judge mr. pape, remember these are only words, only words my friend, I think you said it somewhere how your writing does not necessarily reflect your life. Sarcastic or not, I must laugh at your "crybaby" comment. If I'm a crybaby, what does that make you?

Have you ever slept under a bridge when the mercury dropped under 15 degrees? You ever spend 5 days and 5 nights camping alone in the the semi- badlands with the evil red eyes staring at you waiting for you to go to sleep so they can intrude on your camp? I'm willing to assume not, because there was no pussy, no booze, and no people waiting there to feed your ego, which by the way is just about time to cease. Crybaby in words, maybe, but I don't need to listen to your burnt out opinions on my person to know who I really am. Good Day!

Jack- Why in the hell would I ever sleep outside when it's -15? I'm a human being. And I've read Jack London as a boy. I also wear a hat and scarf and don't jump into puddles.

to be honest i think booze hound or souse would suffice. But crybaby sounds so juvenile. Actually Martino, I think ultimately my intentions in life are to block out moronic replies and suggestions from people I don't know who seem to think they can form opinions on someone they don't know. The human race really has a lot going for them, and the great spirit of that phenomenon has really been a blessing the past week with respect to assholes like....well, pretty much everyone.

Tell me something good or bad about literature. Something I can laugh at or think about -- I haven't read anything in a few days; nada, nunca, nadie.
I'm thinking about poems . . . ever read Pablo Neruda -- good golly what a man! Like Matisse with words.

Sarah-

Neruda...Never even heard of him. Another name I'll have to check out. Funny you mention Matisse. My best friend recommended a film to me called "poetry in Motion" which I watched once about two weeks ago, and twice the other night. There's a poet in the film named Ed Sanders who recites a poem, actually sings a poem about Henry Matisse. While he's singing his poem, he's clanking on these synthesized finger symbols which give out a strange resonant tone. And now the poem, and those finger symbols are imbedded in my mind, I just can't get the melody out no matter how hard I try. Anyways, if you can find it anywhere Sarah, rent "poetry in motion." The likes of Ginsberg, Snyder, Bukowski, even Tom Waits appear. It gives you a whole new perspective on poetry when you see the poet perform.

I haven't been reading much poetry myself besides Baudelaire. Baudelaire, who was harshly received by French(?) critics for the drugs, prostitutes, and morbidness of his writing..yeah he's got some good stuff.

Actually tonight there is an open mic at a local bar that I'm going to attend and read a couple of my poems for the hell of it. Some of my more "polished" stuff I guess you could say.

Martino- I had to look boor up in the dictionary, and yeah, that was me last Tuesday night. I think I crossed the realm of living that night into the legally 4.5 death state. Sounds kind of interesting, but in fact I was boorishly intolerable that night, not to mention a walking drunk zombie and I regret everything I posted, even though I can honestly say I don't even remember being by a computer that night. I think I owe you an apology about the seig heil speil seeing that you're from Germany. I dind't mean anything by it.
