Rinocerose In Concert

Rinocerose
La Scala, London Nove 13th

I was pretty unfamiliar with Rinocerose at the onset of the evening. I was having pints of Guinness local with my classmates and discussing musical hits of the 90's.

Since I am the only Yank of the bunch, everyone asks me why I am studying Web Design in Britain and which American bands are really good that they never read about.

I tell them America makes me physically ill, and that in the early 90's the best music was made in England and then the talent shifted across the Channel to France. They look at me like I'm stupid. It's not typical for yanks to dis their country so emphatically and for someone to praise the youth culture of France is unheard of. But ignorance is not purely and American art form.

I truly believe France is the best country for music right now. Rinocerose is the proof. The lead singer (who doesn't really sing much so let's call him leader) is the sexiest man alive. I would sell my soul in an instant to look like him. Sans Questions. And unlike most bands I've seen recently, the musicians actually look thrilled to be there, as if they have the best jobs in the world.

But the best part of Rinocerose is the music. Its like Primal Scream versus AD/DC. They probably won't come to the States because they are too talented to be taken seriously by the labels, but see them if they do. You won't regret it.

You ever hear of Pax Acidus? I put this up (and you helped me) oh about a year ago. Plus I have played this many times at the Bottle of Blue. Glad to see you were concious. http://www.paxacidus.com/sound/rinocerose.html

Mc,

Err, yeah I remember. That was sort of the reason I went. I do not just show up randomly at shows for bands I've never heard of.

If you wanted some acknowledgement or a thank you, well then... thank, err, you. What I would really appreciate however is if you ripped that disc to MP3 and posted it on loxxol. Then our Pax Acidus readers could check them out as well.

Why don't they buy the album? I'm sure that's what the band would like.

You're just saying that because you are a technophobe and can't figure out how to do it.
