What can I say? I talked to Pixie tonight on the phone

And her boyfriend, too.

I want to see them in the flesh in the nowhereland of the midwest. I want to see them in May or June. Preferably in a trashy Dennys in the middle of nowhere.

Even when I couldnt connect to the internet I knew I could call them and talk. I wanted so much to talk to someone, but I knew I couldnt call people on the east coast as theyd be asleep. I have a Gemini moon and I love talking to people on the phone. I was traumatized to know that the internet was no longer available to me, and yet Pixie & her boyfriend were there.

Cool, young kids they are.

And if you knew how stereotypically 80s the music Im listening to now is you would laugh.

"This war has nothing to do with us
but somehow were so involved in it
They say dont you worry about the situation
A message from the telephone
Theyre out there fighting for the State of The Nation
And waiting for the chance to come home
Theyll always have to fight the alienation
And realize theyre fighting alone"

This is a song from 1983 called "State Of The Nation" by Industry.

Look for their cheesy 80s LP "Stranger To Stranger". Which I have grown to love.

Remember I CANNOT TYPE APOSTROPHES MY BROWSER (MOZILLA FIREFOX) WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TYPE APOSTROPHES.

That is all.

Paul Weller said he came to Nick Drakes music late = didnt we all? (see I told you I cant type apostrophes and at this rate I might go back to bloody Internet Explorer, the dreaded carcass it is) So anyway Paul Weller said he came to Drakes music late, didnt we all, and he said that Nick Drakes music had a "magical quality" to it. Of course it bloody did. A fucking magical quality too fucking right! Ill gladly enter into a barroom brawl with anyone who says that aint right.

"I was born to love no one, no one to love me, only the wind in the long green grass...I was made to love magic..."

And the miracle of Nick Drake is especially in his production. He was lucky to be produced in such a way that made his guitar pickings and voice especially pure and intimate. Very few recordings from as far back as the 60s can claim that kind of purity.

Haha .. well J enjoyed it. But he was veeeeeerrryyy drunk I realized when we went to get sandwhichs. I wish I'd taken a picture of the sandwhich shop for at a quarter to one in the morning with the hungover looking staff and college kids drunk off their ass - cause you know, we don't drive drunk here - thank god there are sandwhich places in walking distance. I just thought it was something you'd appreciate seeing.

I was going to call you again tonight cause I'm stuck at home - since I saw my parents and they made me eat meat and so now I'm ill.

But really - I'm too out of it to hold the phone, so I should just stay here on the sofa alternating between the computer, my book, and trying to get the movie to play.
Haha - since I'm ill J can't say no to whatever movie I want I can't decide if I should subject him to my love of horror movies (which he *hates* and the gore really gets to him) ... or since my stomach's already upset a chick-flick (which oridnarly I despise cause they're all mostly condescening and etc.)

Pixie my stereo speakers went out on me this weekend, I'm crushed. First it was my record player, now my speakers. I'm so sad right now. This means I will have to rip my current favourite LP to my computer and Joy Division is out of the question. *weeps* I have to get new speakers. Waaaah.

You mention horror movies - in this Witch Trials CD I found in my collection w/Jello Biafra on it he mentioned "Humanoids Of The Deep". IMDB says it's a crap film, but because Biafra mentioned it so much, I want to rent it.
