Sloth.. Your Book

Post by myxilplyc »

To answer your question from god knows how many weeks ago, from my old blog... yes I have read your book, and found it quite good. It reminded me of Vurt, to some extent.

I did not find it "rife with mistakes" as you so put it, but I did find a few, mostly out of order sequences, undoubtedly due to writing a section then editing it, and forgetting what was written before it. Don't feel bad, it's the most common mistake and author can make (aside from spelling and grammar, but that doesn't count). I do it myself, constantly. All good authors do. And for that matter, I only saw a couple of incidences of it.

I have to admit, though, the ending aggravated me. I almost got the sense that you were tired of fucking with writing it, and ended it just to be done. So much was left unexplained. I can only assume you inteded it to be this way so you can collaborate with Irvine Welsh and make millions from a sequel.

I still plan to edit it for you, but things have been hard lately and after reading it (twice) I just haven't had the time to put my full effort into it. Anything worth doing and all that, you know.

Overall, a bizarre, unique and twisted look at the rave scene told from the perspective of a long time insider. I'm sure you know that your target audience is limited, put with a polish or two I think it could be picked up by a decent publisher. It's good enough.

Myx,

Thanks for the comments. I'm sorry I missed this thread and just saw it. I been a busy little sloth lately.

As for the ending... I thought the book was getting a bit long... so there is really no ending... but enough hopefully to make you want to read more. A sequel is planned and partially completed.

I am spending my free time coding an eLearning application which I'm sure I can sell. It will be done in December. Then it will be back to the planet Ravulon.

I agree that with a lot of editing it's publishable. The question is by who and before I go gray would be great.

If you made any notes I would love them. I plan to update the book soon (it's self published) We can discuss writer/editor terms in private.

Thanks again. A googleplex of thanks, in fact. I had almost forgotten I had written a book.
