Oh shit. I'm really out of touch. I didn't know about that 3 Disc "Hacienda Classics" Peter Hook compilation. I can see where my money is going when I get paid.

I've said it before but you know they're supposed to have a new album out this summer. They had 7 or 8 songs already finished last year that they said were coming out this summer.

This part of the article bothers me though:
Their spooked classic of a debut single, "Ceremony," was completed only after the band digitally cleaned up rehearsal recordings of Curtis (he hadn't left behind lyrics).
Hadn't left behind lyrics? To that song? Bullshit! Joy Division released that song as a live track on Still with Ian singing it! Digitally cleaned up the recordings? Digitally? Not bloody likely mate, this was what, 1980?

Also Tommy I did want to mention how funny I thought it was when you said on the phone yesterday that Bryan Ferry seemed like he went to school with James Bond. I mean I don't know how you come up with stuff like that just off the cuff the way you do, but that is funny, mate.

Oh god I am so hungover. I played Peter Gabriel's "Red Rain" at full volume before I passed out.

Also I pulled out Ride's "Nowhere" album and went completely crazy over it all over again and posted a bunch of shit on someone's blog about it.

I got a Bow Wow Wow DVD in the mail that I still need to watch.

This Bow Wow Wow DVD is so funny. I mean you know how videos were so bad when they first started making them in the early 80's because they basically they didn't know what the fuck they were doing? I just started cracking up because her dramatic mannerisms toward the camera are so overdone!!

Really cheap set behind the dancers! Hahahahaha Bad clothes too!

And she keeps wearing one of those hats that guys used to wear in the 1700's.

She really is pretty, though. I never really thought she was all that pretty before, but I can see why folks think she's pretty now. She gets prettier and the videos get better later in their career when folks had had time to figure out how to make a decent music video!

OMG now she's got a fifties getup on! Weird! She looks like she stepped out of Grease but with a mohawk haircut!

There's a live show from 1983 on here, too. Wow that girl could dance!!!

I daresay she still can. Their guitarist died of diabetes complications in 1995 but she reunited with the bassist I think and recruited a new drummer and they're performing now down in California at Lesbian/Gay/Bi/Trans festivals and shit like that. Of course they won't fucking come up to Seattle. It probably sounds like a bad thing they got a new drummer, but supposedly the old drummer taught him the correct style.

I sure would like to see her perform.
