This song is called "C30, C60, C90, Go!" And what they're talking about is home taping, you see? And there's this part where she says "I carry my collection on my back" which is exactly what people do nowadays with their ipods. Isn't that weird? I think this song is from 1980, something like that. It seems to predict the downloading age. Also another great thing about this song is she goes to the record shop in the middle of it.
I can't seem to find the lyrics online, though, strangely enough. One page said "the author doesn't want these lyrics disclosed"...
Here's some Bow Wow Wow lyrics that seem to tell the future
The irony here is of course that as far as I know, the Sex Pistols manager, Malcom McLaren, wrote the lyrics.
Even though everything I've read about him leads me to believe he's a right cunt. I'm serious, that guy is NOT nice to people.
He cooked up a scheme to tell Adam from Adam & the Ants that the rest of the band had sacked him, which was a lie. Then he got this teenager girl singer to sing for the rest of the band instead. He pressured her into being photographed. He was also a dickhead according to John Lydon. But you know, it's like Woody Allen, you can't judge the art by the artist.
What would McLaren have ever been though without other far more creative and brilliant people around him?
