Can - Tago Mago

Post by marky »

This was an album that influenced New Order, The Fall and John Lydon. If you can think of a greater honor than that, be my guest.

Anyway we've already established the fact that there is NO NEED for me to be THIS DRUNK On a SUNNY AFTERNOON IN SEATTLE. There is no need for this. But I'm determined to spend the rest of my weekend as I choose. Fuck the textbook I'm two chapters behind in. Fuck it.

I need CAN. CAN, I say. Can are absolutely one of my favourite bands ever. But if you hear their earliest stuff with Malcom Mooney as vocalist, it is very different, and that is not my fave stuff. No, Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi are the best Can albums ever. This is relatively common knowledge. If you don't like the spacey freakouts of Tago Mago, then Ege Bamyasi will ease your soul.

And the sun is shining in Seattle by the grace of...something other than God.

Tago Mago is absolutely the magic medicine for your soul. I mean it, this is agreed on by many to be a classic album.

You wouldn't believe how much they will heal the funk in your soul. Can are the fucking shit.

In fact the only thing I've heard better than Can of late was this thing by Moebius & Beerbohm (the former from the band known as Cluster) called "Strange Music" which exactly what it was, very very strange music and yeah, that was the only thing I've heard that could just sweep the floor with Can. But it's all German, so make of that what you will.

hmm I'll look into that ...
and I just hit the wrong keys and my computer started thinking I was trying to make it do something else...

I am also unnecessarily drunk for a Sunday but it is Easter and I did encounter my family. I do hope there aren't any huge storms tonight .. I am far too drunk to be much good if something were to happen.
Lie to me, it takes less time to drink you pretty.

I am alive. for now. I am working on alcohol poisoning... which is dumb because I am working the desk tonight/tomorrow from 4-6am and then 1-3pm ... then I'm goin gto sit through presentations in my theology class.

and then probably sleep if J isn't around, if he is he'll want to go to dinner and make me fatter. :( But he really liked showing me off to all his drunk friends.

The hair is hot sex.

Let's pretend it's 1984 again!!!!

I'm playing the Durutti Column again. Watch 24 Hour Party People again if you don't know what that is. I should have that DVD damnit. I really should.

Pixie! With her hair! Stay tuned! I better sober up now. This Durutti Column is piercing my heart with beauty. Some say this is the very best Durutti Column record ever this one I'm playing now. God, I'm in awe. Speechless, really.

I bid you all adieu. and maybe next time Pixie and I can pretend we're buddhists.

and I'll put on Bow Wow Wow with the teenage girl singer.

I don't think Pixie was alive in 1984... and Marky you were like 12. If we are going to pretend, let's pretend it was 1968 and Seargent Pepper just came out and we had a house in Soho and a small mountain of cocaine and lager and tickets the the Rolling Stones concert.

Yeah but before you know it you will be old so do whatever you want to do now because when you get older you just don't care anymore (except about politics and money boringly enough).

I am trying to buck that trend however. I am still trying to care about music and video games. But NME cut off my subscription for no reason and you can't buy good pot here in Sweden (truly a mixed blessing) so I have to learn how to play them sober... its not nearly as fun.
