Marky/Matt-
Wondering if you've heard of them.

Downloaded 'tear you apart' on ITunes and it's damm good.

Quick google search shows they are 2 DJ's who basically did all they could to copy the Joy Division sound and make it work again. I think it does (based on the 1 song I heard).

Off to work to listen to it in the car (along with Tom Waits-'House where Nobody Lives'...genius)

Hm, no I don't know it. I'm always wary when folks are compared to JD though. But I'll give it a try.

She looks good to me.

The Blues

Yeah they copied the sound. Yeah they wear black. Apparently it's something to do with angels - don't you met them in heaven when you die?

This stuff reminds me of the blues. The blues has a magnificently simple formula. A formula practiced endlessly (and by musicians who love it and master their craft to a degree only dreamed of by DJ's) YET only a handful of contemporary bluesmen (or women) are hailed by their peers. Why is this? Well given that it is such a simple format it takes an outstanding interpretation to shine. Same goes for ripping off JD and the genius of Martin Hannet. ( to say nothing of Peter Saville - Hello Marky, sorry about the fire alarm you'll never know what you missed)

So, I'm telling you that yes this is listenable and yes it makes the same sonic waves as Joy D, but, fuck me, these folk should be ashamed of themselves.

Damnit I keep trying to listen to this thing but my internet connection kept fucking up earlier today. I tried for like 30 to 45 minutes or something. Very frustrating.

Yeah sorry I missed you Tommy. It just wasn't a good time, I'd just got home as well as the fire alarm and hadn't even eaten yet. I got home from work late because I walked from work to a wine shop you see and it was a long walk. I was pleased with what I found there, though. One last bottle of Merlot de Campuget! I was happy there was even one left. I'm getting the good shit from the internet for the time being. I still think Campuget is a ridiculously good French winery for most of the time, but Delas Freres has impressed me as well. Their 2002 Cotes du Rhone was very nice indeed. They are the winery that has a quaint little engraving of an oval on the front of their bottles, so it's easy to find their bottles. I used to buy their Cotes du Rhone before from a different vintage and they were my old favourite before I found Campuget. Anyway right. What were we talking about? Oh yeah, the JD-ish band. Okay well I'll try again to hear them on dial up this time.

Maybe I should start a wine blog. Sloth can you PLEASE fix it so there are buttons that will help us do the French thingamajigs over the letters?

Okay it's going to take me awhile with this thing because I don't have the right software on this computer to hear She Wants Revenge. The reason is that there is too much music on my computer so I have had to get rid of software to make room. So this will take some time.

Oh, I don't know. It's okay I guess. Maybe a bit less annoying than Interpol, but still rather like Interpol. I find the videos annoying and I think that prejudices me. Pouting prima donnas and hipper-than-thou poses from the band, etc. yuck.

Still like I said, I'd rather hear them than Interpol.

Matt do you like it?
