I Believe the hype. Baby Shambles is rockin' and rankin' my world. This record is like Johnny Thunders smacked out trying to play a Clash song. This is 60's music from Middle America, a mix of Memphis and Kingston, like Alex Chilton made a demo tape with Lee 'Scratch' Perry and they were so high on their collective drugs they forgot to add the Reggae. I want to know what Katy did again! Yes I do. I wanna Fuck Forever and do cocaine until my insides bleed. The 32nd of December is so Kinks, it outshines Ray Davies, you know when you have an itch down the middle of your back and no matter what you try to do you can't scratch it? The 32nd of December is like that itch but the opposite, instead of an itch, it is like an orgasm, coming all through you and you can't reach it or fathom where it comes from but it takes over your body in a lovely ache that makes you shake and you will want to crawl into a ball and lay there spent and you won't be able to talk about it or know about it.
