Oh you think I'm kidding don't you? But The Who had an album called "Tommy" on which Townshend orchestrated the song that went "Tommy can you hear me?"
Though I can't remember it very well.
All I know is I went from the unheard of brilliance of the new Kate Bush to thinking of the Beatles, whom I experienced through Sgt. Pepper as though they were god and very quickly began to think of Tommy of Paxacidus, whom I longed so terribly to connect with by phone. But when I did, when I checked the messages on my voice mail I found that he had called me, lucky me. But the problem was that even though I was drunk and delirious with the bliss of the Beatles at that moment, I knew it was the wrong time to call him, even just before I checked my messages and heard his voice, I knew it was the wrong time to call him because of his kids and wife etc. for they would wake up.
But that was okay because god would be good to us in the morning. For the sake of Jesus and all the rest that was holy about Sgt. Pepper and the new Kate Bush double album. For the sake of Jesus. And The Beatles and British music amen.
AND DID I MENTION I WOULD WILLINGLY OFFER MYSELF UP ON THE CROSS OF THE SINS OF AMERICA FOR THE WHOLE WORLD I WOULD ENDURE WHAT JESUS ENDURED FOR THE SINS OF AMERICAN AND BEG - THAT'S RIGHT I SAID BEG FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD'S FORGIVENESS
AND HOW HAPPY I WAS IN MY TOTALLY FUNCTIONLESS DRUNKEN STONED STATE TO FIND THAT TOMMY HAD CALLed
AND BEJESUS HAD SPOKEN
BECAUSE I LOVE MARILYN MONROE
AND THAT IS WHY
HAVE A GOOD DAY
THERE IS NO THANKSGIVING IN ENGLAND
