so anyways, come down. get a slice of pizza and a beer. celebrate my freedom (no more school until 4/7!) see some free music. that sort of thing. cheers, nabi

Ah ha! So I'm not the only one on break from school! Wooo hoo! I'm tempted to recite that one about the 'teachers dirty looks' but after all, it is only a 2 week break...

I'd love to go out tonight but I had to work a graveyard shift last night so I'm extremely tired. Plus I have no money. But I'll certainly check out the link, thanks for posting it!

Actually that link sounds really nice! Can't say he hasn't heard of Radiohead, but to me that's a plus.

yes, dan and i originally bonded over our unnatural love of radiohead. his definitely shows in the disc that mp3 came off of. as i'm not a musician, i had to show my love of radiohead by talking of little else for about a year. where are you in school?

Only 3 more quarters and I'll have my A.S. then I can transfer to a 4 year school. I have a buttload of credits from almost 10 years ago, so it has been complicated putting all of it together.
I guess I've done a lot of experimenting in school over the years without getting a degree.

Seeing RH at the Gorge Summer 2001 just before 9/11 was absolutely the best concert I've ever been to. They were incredible, but by the time they got down to L.A. they'd been on tour long enough and were ready to go home. It's good they'll be back this summer with a new album, but I don't hold out much hope for it. They may be past their peak, now. Then again, I didn't hold out too much hope before they took the stage either and was proved wrong. They have a weird way of doing that with me, they'll piss me off (I thought the movie "Meeting People Is Easy" was self-indulgent and awful) and then they come right back around and make me a sucker for them all over again.

I've been wondering what happened to the Beta Band lately though...

The Beta Band is in Baghdad. They are on the rooftop of the presidential palace, using themselves as human shields along with Dick Chenny’s granddaughter.

I can't stop listening to Yeah Yeah Yeah's Our Time. It's my new Anti-war anthem, even though I'm sure it's written about something else entirely. I don't care. I’m making that song my song and it can mean what I want it to mean. And if the band doesn't like it I'll challenge Karen O to a mud-wrestling match. Any time, anywhere.

hehehe, i've done pretty much the same thing, mark. fartarsing about in school for years. now i'm finally trying to crack down and make something of myself, i guess. what do you want to study? where are you getting your AS?

i missed that gorge radiohead show, i was in sf being a maid of honor. but i did see them down there that same tour. it doesn't even touch their show in holland in 2000, though. not by a long shot. but still a fairly good show.

anyways, here are video clips from danny's show last night:

it was good. danny's good.

Well I'm not sure I wish to reveal any further details about my school adventures here, but if we meet in person I'll get my jaw wagging.

Upon checking my Radiohead facts more clearly recently, I realized you were probably right about Holland 2000. I can't remember how it all happened but they put a gig up on the web sometime after Kid A came out and it was indeed 2000 this gig, Warrington, U.K. and when I heard that gig, I realized that Radiohead had the power to be a lot better live than on studio recordings. So I'm sure they were probably quite good when you saw them as well. Cheers.

If we keep on like this I'll have to start a thread called Radiohead, because I don't think there are many RH fans here besides us but I was wondering if you've heard the new RH. I've been reading on the ateaseweb.com that unmastered versions of all the new songs got leaked on the web. There are some reviews there, too that say generally it's a very upbeat album compared to their usual depressiveness. When they debuted the songs live last summer or whatever, I downloaded them but I didn't think much of what I heard. I figured I'd reserve judgement until they had something more polished, but I haven't had the time or inclination to download the latest unmastered versions.

In any case, let me know if your friend Danny plays anywhere again.
