Was reading in the NYT on Sunday that, when faced with a public situation of rudeness, folks who responded by correcting (and not ignoring) the protagonists got a feeling of well being. Can't remember the exact quote but it was done using the equipment that identifies "happy" brains.
Good for you Martino.
The Bravery
Oh I don't know I thought it was kindof funny, at least for awhile. Especially since it was as if Rollins himself was defending Morrissey, which is crazy because I think he hates Moz if I recall correctly.
Mav, I don't think there's anything wrong with just saying "I like it" about the music. I constantly have to contend with pretentious music journalist assholes who think you're only important if you can describe music in some over-the-top flowery/intellectualized manner. Wasn't it Frank Zappa who said writing about music was like "dancing about architecture"?
As for the Bravery I didn't think they were too bad. Probably better than most of they hyped bands around these days. I know some folks like Kaiser Chiefs around here, but my friend showed me a set list he pulled off the stage when he saw them and not only was it fucking TYPED OUT (ruining the whole glorious point of set lists) but at the end it said "you are the proud owner of a Kaiser Chiefs set list, congratulations!" I mean how lame is that? I was totally turned off to that band from then on!

But it was all a joke .. albeit with very bad humor that didn't come across so well. I even called Tom as soon as could from work this afternoon to let him know I was kidding. I was poking at this picture of him that's in the gallery that he told me he hated while I was up in NYC.
But I do apoligize if I came across badly as I don't want to appear high schoolish. And I also value Martino's opinion in the matter.
I will say this too ... Personally, I have no favorite of Rollins music as I cared for it about as much as that of Morrissey BUT I did always thing Henry Rollins was kinda HOT.

Computers
They can't convey tone in voice....and I guess it doesn't help that neither martino nor tommy know us personally....anyway-it was all in good fun. Maybe that kind of exchange should be kept to emails. (but c'mon-a pic of a cheerleading movie 'bring it on'??? ya had to know this was all in good fun....)
Anyway-it's late and I am tired and will try to expound upon my Black Flag tracks I love later (never really got into Rollins solo)..but suffice to say that ANY track on 'damaged' is right up there for my favorites.
and Mike with a y-you're a fey-way bent cock sucker.
So-has no one listened to the VHS or Beta??

If I'm making any sense, then I haven't made myself clear.
