New Liverpool band called The Dead 60s

I originally heard of them through Peel. Finally a contemporary band that does Post-Punk right!

I saw them open up for the bravery. They were really good. I bought their album, then a band of 12 year olds played and I was too drunk and annoyed to actually see the bravery.

The bravery are a cool band. People in the UK say they are like a boy band but I say they just have bad haircuts.

In the states everyone says they hate the Bravery. But they sold a million albums. I bought their album and listened to it only once and have no opinion as of this post. I'm still waiting for the White Stripes to come out on vinyl.

Stayed with Tracy's (Mrs Tommy's cousins) when I was in England six weeks ago. Katie, a good looking girl of about 25 had just broken up that day with the bassist from the Bravery. No hard feelings, but they were on the other side of the ocean etc. They had been together for about 6 months. She said he was a nice bloke. I never mentioned the eyeliner.

My English in-laws are posh. Katie went to St Martins college. Sadly she did graphic design and not sculpture. Anyway, as young people are wont to do, she said that she had no intention of "selling out" in her line of work. Later on Tracy and I confessed to each other that we were not aware graphic designers could sell out. Can I just say to any young folk who might be reading this, that if you get to live in the west end of London and have your parents pick up the tab for all the expenses that come with a degree then have the gall to sit there and think that you are doing something noble by not getting a job THEN do not be surprised if working class chaps like me reach across the table and punch your teeth out through your fucking arse.

yes well after the bombings in England I gave a chuckle to all the Brits with bad teeth giving interviews to CNN. So who needs those teeth anyway.

My mum is famously tough. Also stoic. After the bombs I put in a quick call to check up on clan Tommy. No problem said the queen bee. Last week I find out that one bomb went off next door to my sisters place of work and that my brother in law was stuck underground for four hours approx two minutes away (or the next train if you know the underground) from the station when the bomb went off. My sis didn't hear from him for a while. Like mum said, no problem. No need to fuss.
