My Mate Dafydd from Uni is covering Glastonbury for the Times on a blog. Good stuff. Check it out.

Yes I absolutely need to read about this because I heard they were having this thing where loads and loads of people were going to be listening to music on headphones at the same time because the festival organizers were looking to get around the people who would complain about the noise, and that really captured my imagination thinking of all these zillions of folks with headphones on hearing the same music at the same time...one journalist called it a "silent disco".

But looking at what's reported here, it doesn't mention it. Maybe there was a specifically "dance" oriented part of the festival...that's what I remember it having to do with. I'll have to figure it out one of these days.

I appreciate what is reported here, though...the big banner with the "teenage dreams" quote or whatever it is...Peel was in the air, to be sure. That was specifically meant for Peelie, that quote. His favourite song was Undertones, that song "Teenage..." what the fuck is it? I can't remember. I never liked the Undertones, but I didn't care if Peel did. Oh I remember - "Teenage Kicks"! That's it, that's his favourite song. It's by The Undertones.
