pop and politics

Post by Tommy Martyn »

This could go under another heading but wtf.

When I was in the UK recently Bob Geldof announced his new venture to highlight conditions in Africa. The story there was ten times bigger than here in the USA. Recently I read Dark Star Safari by Paul Theroux and it made quite an impression on me. The english papers have been seized with passionate informed debate on the pros and cons of "development" and "aid" Is anybody else here keeping up with any of this. I'd love to hear what you are thinking.

Geldoff turned down Motely Crue's request to be in the show. He's already done quite a bit for the Africans with that move.
