the stories are hilarious and the approach seems to be just great: cockney hop hop!
you could call it the best thing since Morris and the Minors did that hit "Stutter Rap" (ever heard it? a rapper with a serious speech deficiency? b-b-b-b-b-b-bitch p-p-p-p-p-p-pissed me off!).
but i don't like it! for my ears, that much estuary english is just too gutteral, glottal, coughing, quacking. (it's probably just *my* problem and nobody else's).
and while we are at it: could somebody please explain to me what the *point* is with all this rhyming slang stuff? i mean, it is funny, but perhaps only in a insider joke kind of way? or am i just too german to get a good joke?
i mean, berkshire hunt = cunt = berk = cunt was pretty good. but i lose track of all that stuff when it gets too poetic, like in
boat race = face
two thirty = dirty
grass in the park = nark
henry moore = door
what the fuck? who really *needs* this stuff? tony, please explain!
i mean, could you imaging saying "let's meet the pitch and toss in the rub-a-dub. mind you, if you forget the gregory peck and the dancing fleas you get the oliver twist"
instead of "let's meet boss at the pub. mind you, if you forget the keys and the check you get the fist".

Rosie, what street is that exactly? I've been wondering where Sonic Boom were going to open their new store. Sounds like you've got your business location in a very cool place! Good for you.
I wouldn't be interested in seeing the Streets, (though I'm curious as to who's opening, do you know?) but I would consider going to see Supergrass when they play with the Coral on
March 20.

Supergrass is playing on 15th?
That hardly sounds likely.

Actually you're right, Ooh. I just got an update from Sonic Boom saying Supergrass will of course play there on the same night as their gig here in town (Showbox I think), March 20. Which is cool because The Vells are playing the night after that at the Croc, and it'll be their first CD release. They're playing with The Decemberists and Iron & Wine. Anyone heard of these bands? Stuart likes Decemberists a lot and played them to me. Should be a great gig.
