Oh goody!! A Scottish night. Splendid. There was actually a thread on the music board not too long ago about the Scottish music scene and this one guy had said that it was kindof "old recordy" like people being into a lot of old records rather than new things. I thought "old recordy" was a really funny term.

Let's see you've got Josef K there, that makes me very happy. And yes most early Simple Minds is great - Sister Feelings Call and New Gold Dream - can't remember just now what that other record was that got packaged with Sister Feelings Call. Oh well. And of course Sparkle In The Rain, which I remember you having.

I don't know if you feel like playing Donovan, but he'd be a suggestion...Cocteau Twins too - they're actually back together for some gigs now! But I don't think you like them do you? Oh well.

I don't like the new Momus album much at all. All told I think I appreciate his artistic side more than his musical side. He's very narcissistic as well, which can be tiresome, but try as I might I can't seem to completely hate the guy. He's certainly very intellectual, and sometimes he does have some pretty interesting things to say.

Marky you can suck my big fat Cocteau if you don't think I like the Cocteau Twins. Of course I love the Cocteau Twins, ya Cocteau. I have lived my life by their lyrics.

Are you guys thinking of Sons and fascination. That was the "real" record. Sister feelings call only came out as bonus for a limited time. Back in the day I was quite the Simple minds fan. I have a Johnny and the self abusers single. (The simple minds original name) I have Chelsea girl in the original picture sleeve. I have "I Travel" on 12 inch in the original cover (only 1900 pressed) It broke my heart to see what became of the Simple Minds. For a long time they were great.

For Scottish night how about some Nazareth or some sensational alex harvey band

This quote seriously needs to be engraved in a giant plaque which I would very much like to have on my wall.

I had the I Travel 12" - I dunno if it was from the original 1900 or not but it was very primitive looking. it had a dark blue inner label like New Order's Movement did. Didn't really have a sleeve as such, just the record in a blank black sleeve with a hole cut out so you could see the inner circle of the record. I still have it technically, but not with me at the moment.
