New music, bands, and shows

I've just come in.

Well, not really. I've been in and out all day. It has been a beauty. Bike rides, baby showers, and the last part wasn't so good, it involved someone other than me being not-so-good and drunk and on top of me in the floor; sometimes that is a good thing, this time it was not.

As for good things.

I really like what america needs is a little more of me.

This is definitely my favorite:
You say that these colors don't run
Well maybe that's becasue of your weight problem

Give em hell, BFJ!

in fact, because I'm laughing, and I needed a laugh, that fat bastard that landed on me scraped my knee.

I even like your typo -- beca-sue (it's like a redneck name from hell, and I heard at dinner tonight that smuckers is going to sue the pants off anyone who makes their pb&j sandwiches, cut down the middle at whatever angle, with the crusts cut off. What a country, beca-sue, beca-sue, beca, beca, beca, beca-sue)

And on a side note since we are in sex, drugs, and rock -n- roll and weed was brought up.

My brother who picked me up from the bar, before the fat bastard landed on me and I should clarify -- he tackled me, he didn't just land -- he tackled, played me Tribe from Heaven (I think that's the name of the band) The song that jane likes. It was nice.

and Trixie, since we're talking about spite, the album, and really I think I've lost my patience with the fat bastards of the world. Here's a trick, not for kids.

How to give the fat bastard the passive aggressive finger: (this one's on me -- care of my cover band guy, who's very smart.)

Laugh at a smart guy's joke. Well within earshot of the fat bastard who doesn't get the joke.

went outside for a smoke, lay on my empty deck and stared at the blue sky, the breeze seperating the line of smoke, got up and wrote this song. kind of a lullaby.

(no title right now)

I'm gonna lay in the sun today
cause I've gone pale and gray
from the bar rooms and an empty house
from the cigarettes and alcohol.

I'm going to wait for a girl I know
to fall from the sky.
Cause I left her three years ago
without saying goodbye.

I'm gonna feel good finally
after a year of abnormality
I'm gonna lose the wallet from my head
think of love and life instead.

I'm gonna lay in the sun today
watch the powerlines dance and sway
stare at the dirt in my eyes
chase it around across the brilliant sky.

If I wake the same don't bury me
cause I need someone to carry me
I've gotten so far away from home
don't remember not feeling alone.

I'm gonna lay in the the sun today
cause I've gotten pale and gray.

So here are the new songs, and I'm thinking of changing the title of the album from "Spite" to "Shoot from the lips"
The cover is going to be me, in a cowboy hat, aviator shades, burgandy shirt (Mr. Sigel reference) I'm going to be just putting my guitar down and shooting someone presumably in the audience, that's why I think "Shoot from the lips" might be a better title. but maybe it is too lame.
I think my favorite right now is "cockpit" but then again I just wrote it, i'll probably like the next one better.

DEAD SONG

Ooh it's a little sweet dead song, death song
I've been beaten and it's wrong, it's wrong
She's a little sweet, good girl, good girl
and it's a bitter sweet sad, it's a cold world

(Chorus)
How long has it been
Since your last redemption?
Don't talk to me about making sense
I don't, want to hear it again.

It's a little sweet dead song, death song
so soft and sweet, don't be long, I don't belong
I had to dig her out this pearl, smooth pearl
but it's a bitter sweet, sad, it's a cold world.

(Chorus)

It's a little sweet dead song, death song
she's got little feet but the road, is long
she said you gotta stay by me and be strong, be strong
All those freinds you had they're gone, all gone
It's a little sweet dead song, dead song
I know the man said to be hold on, you gotta hold on
and from above my love you've been hurled, been hurled
down here with the rest of us in this world, this fucked up world.

(Chorus)

OCEAN FLOOR

I'm window shopping the bars, looking for friends
I'm looking at the passing cars and merecedes benz
and I'm walking down the sidewalk, looking for you again

Slipping, into a shade of gray
dripping wet in the middle of the day
and the note you didn't leave, asked for me to stay

So you'll have me sinking, to the bottom of you
And I've got no life saver, to hold on to
I have no treasure, worth looking for
I'll stay right here on, the ocean floor

It's high times that make these times so hard
the further we go, the harder it'll be to be apart
But we've got steel eyes behind our hands of cards

I'm window shopping the bars, looking for you
and I'm avoiding all the friends I run into
your hard, so hard to pursue
but I can be hard, i know i can be hard too.

So you'll have me sinking, to the bottom of you
And I've got no life saver, to hold on to
I have no treasure, worth looking for
I'll stay right here on, the ocean floor

COCKPIT

From the cockpit, I am bringing this plane down
A thousand miles per hour into the ground
And they won't find any trace of me, or you
just a black box that held onto
every argument we used to...get into

In the cockpit, I jammed a fork in the auto pilot,
It can't deter this flaming wreck
from it's pre-determined course of death
don't get all upset, get over it, get over it, get over it

In the cockpit, you burst in with a razor blade
to save, this plane and all the people that we knew
but I've got, my governmnet issue
pistol, to shoot, a hole
into the side of this, flaming wreck
and keep us on this course of certain death

Just keep flying you day
keep us moving for another day
but I wanna land, i wanna land, I wanna land
I wanna crash, crash, I wanna crash land
crash this thing screaming into the ground
and scatter, scatter everything around
with an earth shattering blatter splitting sound
and I'll flick off the medics, flick off the paramedics
and you'll fuel, you'll fuel the flames, you're fuel for the flames we're going to fuel, fuel the flames and I'll fan them and were going to torch every goddamn field in the midwest and scorch every bit of earth around us...
and the news reports are coming in, the news reports are coming in now, we're going to go live to Kathy Gutuierez who's live at the scene, "Kathy?" what's going on down there? Kathy can you hear me?" "Well Bob, I can't figure out why these people got on this plane together, where they took off from, or where they expected to land, i can only speculate they thought they were in love, in love, they thought they were in love, but it appears they've suffered a complete mechanical failure, a complete fucking failure Bob!"

From the cockpit, I'm bring this plane down
A thousand miles per hour into the ground
and they won't find any trace of me, or you
just a black box that held onto
every argument we used to...get into.

I'M OUT

Hey now, I've been learning
not to expect too much
and as long as she's been burning
I've learned not to touch

Well if she calls for me
and says, "It's time to go."
Yes, she's gonna call for me
oh and won't I know
what I'm after

Walk around for a little while
just a conversation on an endless mile
and I walk around for a little style
just a senseless game for a senseless child
look around this place you see
just a hollow shell of some memories
and look around this place it's me
just swinging tire on a hollow tree
and I'm out
yeah I'm out

Hey now I've been lying
decieving myself
and as long as I've been trying
I haven't been myself

Well when she calls to me
and asks me to be true
yeah she gonna call for me
and I'm going to need you
to life me up.

Fall down on a burning fire
just a' stumbling drunk on a trapeze wire
and I'll fall down when my luck expires
just a melancholy shamless liar
and look around this place you see
dissolving photos of you and me
look around this place it's free
everything's been sold and it's empty
and I'm out
whoa-oa-oa-oa I'm out

Hey now, my world's turning
I'm just trying to keep it down
oh and you keep hurting
but, you never make a sound

Well when you call for me,
know that I'll be there
you've got to call for me
otherwise I'm nowhere
without you.

Fall down on a burning fire
just a' stumbling drunk on a trapeze wire
and I'll fall down when my luck expires
just a melancholy shamless liar
and look around this place you see
dissolving photos of you and me
look around this place it's free
everything's been sold and I'm sorry
and I'm out
whoa-oa-oa-oa I'm out

THE ONE YOU WANT

It's the one you want
and she's so far away
When I need to talk to her, I forget what to say
Had it all worked out before, but I forgot to stay

Called her up with a big surprise,
the hammer finally fell
Gave her time to take it in
that's when she fell
in love...with somebody else

Now I'll have to wait
for this little girl
but if it's right I know,
it won't be long
but it's been a while now
maybe I've got it wrong

Called her up with a big surprise,
the hammer finally fell
Gave her time to take it in
that's when she fell
in love...with somebody else

She say's she's doing fine,
that's so good to hear
and she wishes me the best, and I do the same
asked her how her love was going, with I forget his name

Called her up with a bag of lies
said I'm going through hell
gave her time to take it in
that's when she fell
in love...with me again

The album will still be called spite, mainly cause i just wrote the 13th song, a title track called Spite

SPITE

Drink a beer, have a shower, go to bed
Have a beer, drink the shower water, you're a wreck
It's all in your head
those lies you told instead
of the truth, and what more
it's not what you came here for

Get up, have a shave, go to work
You grow up, you're a slave, for a jerk
It's not at all perfect
but what the hell did you expect?
to live on...a little more?
it's not what you came here for

You say life isn't fair
but you just can't do the math
you forget about the good things (love)
and focus on the bad
but it's all equal
all that you have
in two perfect halves

Hate a girl, love a woman, sleep in her chest
love the girl, hate the woman now, don't get upset
why don't you give it a rest
you've never been your best
even when you tried, a little more
it's not what you came here for

The things I do to you, you do back to me out of spite
The things you do to me, I do back to you out of spite
The things I do to you, you do back to me out of spite
The things you do to me, I do back to you out of spite
the way we treat eachother, you know it's not right
we're like children on a playground when we push and we fight
and everything made sense when you were drunk last night
and you wake up in the morning and forget what to do with your life
The things I do to you, you do back to me out of spite
The things you do to me, I do back to you out of spite
The things I do to you, you do back to me out of spite
The things you do to me, I do back to you out of spite

fed up with how the recording wasn't finished in Wisconsin, and my lack of money to get into a studio, i figured out how to record through my camera into my final cut, transfer to protools, polish it up a bit there, export it and covert to mp3 in my i tunes. so i recorded my first song today and sent it off to sloth to post on the site.
he's going to be in london though so it may be a while before it gets up there.

OKAY KIDS!

Post by bfj »

I've got six recorded, will probably go back and fix them cause i just did it in a rush BUT, please go to this link, listen to the songs and give me some feed back. "That sucks" doesn't help me. "In the first line of the first chorus, you sounded like a dead dog dying, fix it" is helpful.
