Anybody into Will Oldham, I'm hooked on his "Ease Down the Road" album which he did under the psuedoname Bonnie 'Prince' Billy.

Man, I saw Will Oldham at least ten years ago and he showed some great songwriting chops then; a very engaging performer. Bet he's really honed his talents since. Thanks for the reminder.

who cares whether he's the new dylan

Post by martino »

last november my good pal doc val pointed me to bonnie "prince" billy, aka will oldham. and ever since then i have been listening, continuously, to this exceptional music.

i'm interested in the intersection of pop and poetry. oldham has been called the new dylan (just like ryan adams, strangely enough), but oldham's best tunes are a lot more poppier than most of dylan's work. which i like.

whether oldham's poetry is good enough i cannot say but it suffices to me that his words revolve in my head until i find multiple answers to questions i never thought i'd ask.

ugh, I hate that next Bob Dylan stuff. I don't see much of Bob Dylan in his work anyways. BBB is his own man with his own style, just like BFJ!
