Yesterday our local NPR station was mentioning an upcoming interview with Donovan on the occasion of the release of his new record. Parental obligations got in the way and I didn't get to it. They normally archive these things for streaming over at the main NPR website for a week or so. Happy hunting.
On a similar theme have you seen a short documentary about a jukebox that belonged to John Lennon? They go and interview (where possible) the folks who wrote the songs. The segment with Donovan talking about being in India and meeting John was great.

Wow, thanks, Tommy!!! No I hadn't heard of the jukebox. I actually played Beatles today. Enjoyed two songs from them I'd never even heard before! ("Only A Northern Song" & "All Together Now") I'm woefully inadequate as far as Lennon's solo career, too. I know there are some real gems in there but I haven't felt like digging through it all to get at them yet. I do know the first album did nothing for me.
