Hey, I grew up in NJ, where my parents raised me to be a mets fan...there's a certain proud dignity in their perpetual suckiness...or at least there was around the 1980s. It's been a while since I paid much attention to them. Now I live in Seattle, where the Mariners do all the losing with none of the dignity.

Everyone on here makes fun of me for liking th Lakers with "all the best players money can buy" and all that...aren't the Yankees pretty much the baseball version of the Lakers? Great team, but all flash no soul...? I'm not sure, just wondering.

Go Dodgers.

Hey-I talk a big talk...but in all honesty-you love whatever team you love...no big deal...if you're a mets fan-that's great.

Know what you mean Mav about loving a team that loses.
hell-I love the Jets. Talk about a losing team. Still can't help loving em.

But as far as Yankees having no soul..gotta disagree. I mean-their history alone is worth the soul of every other team out there. Currently-they've got a hell of a team. Jeter/Posada/Williams/...jeez-a ton of personality and drive.

Anyway-we suck tonight....9/2 now.

Well-no need to compare the win/loss record for both teams...I have this funny feeling the Yankees are winning a BIT more games than the Mets....

Oh-and anyone who is SO into a team that they get insane about winning is an ass. I find the whole macho US sports thing pretty pathetic. But there is a certain sense of pride and awe that can't be beat in following a team...just a fine-line in how you act about it.

Love sports....just don't LOVE sports.

I like the Mets because Belle and Sebastian wrote a song about Mike Piazza.

'San Francisco's calling us, the Giants and Mets will play
Piazza, New York catcher, are you straight or are you gay?'

I thought if you liked the Yankees you had to like the Giants and if you liked the Mets you supported the Jets. I learned everything I know about New York sports by watching King of Queens.

Kevin James was at the game last night.

I can't believe I've been following the WRONG team this whole time!!!

If only I had watched King of Queens-I wouldn't be in this mess I'm in today!!

McMet-You have it all wrong.

It's actually goes like this-

'If you're a Mets fan-then you like the Nets. But only if they are playing at home. If away-then you root for the Knicks-but only on ODD numbered years. If even-then go back to line 10-and insert line 20. Which reads 'in this case-you must then become a LA Clipper fan'.

If you're a Yankee fan-then you have to be a David Beckham fan and ONLY wear his limited edition T-shirt while watching Teletubby reruns on Sunday morning. But when Tinky Winky appears on the screen-then you MUST sing the aforementioned Belle and Sebastion song.

Please get it right the next time.

Mav likes it when Kevin James sits on his face and the Mav man gets to slide his tongue into the red eye. Oh shit.

King of Queens-A poem

Teabagging
with the king of queens

His buttocks
pressed against my face

I said-
can you take me higher?

He sat down further on my face
and filled my mouth with his rage.

I begged him to stop
and asked him for his autograph

He signed it on my stomach
with an ink all too vile.

DAMM you Met fan Kevin James!!!
For making me wet like a little boy

You asked me for my number
I told you to go to hell

Now-alone I sit.
And your smell still rots my thoughts

Stained sheets and a sore ass
the only reminder

Of what Kings have to offer
and beggers to buy.

WOW, what a gross poem. Teabagging with Kevin James. Who'd have though a comment about the Mets would bring such imagery.

Happy 4th everyone.
