Walking out of the theatre two cute young girls were talking about the film. Girl one said- I didn't know Ian Curtis was so ugly. Girl two said- I didn't know Shaun Ryder was SO ugly! I guess no one told them it wasn't a documentary. But girls- they are beautiful poetic geniuses!

oh and I didn't really like the film. it was my most anticipated movie since Trainspotting, but the subject matter was too close to my heart. I'm one of those sad bastards who say i would have done it differnt. Ian Curtis is my god and we ddin't get to know him. I haven't slept in two days so I'm going to lay back in bed wasted on pills and thrills and listen to Joy Division. let the music rattle my soul. and it does.

this is only a bit of it... but ...

God in his wisdom took me by the hand.

Ian Curtis is a GOD!!! coming from America and removed from all the hype and bullshit and whatever I got a Joy Division record at my farm house in Wisconsin and it was all black. I was into Trinnie lopez because it was my dad's record. as soon as i head Joy Division my mind was gone. I thought they could'nt exist here in this world. now i like new order alot. But i know them. going back to when i was a little kid and heard JOY DIVISION for the first time at a farm house in WISCONSIN my mind was blown so fucking shattered!!!!!

I put my trust in you.

I know he fucked and shat and drark and cheated but on that farm house and still now he is GOD!!! I'm so glad I never met him.,

I disagree. I really liked the film. Being a Factory records nut/collector since I was about 14, and visiting Manchester/the Hacienda in
1990, it just felt like a hell of a lot of my
life was up on that screen.

Yeah, it would be nice to know more about Ian I suppose...but what I have read about him he was a pretty "closed up" kind of person. I know he played practical jokes and such...but even the band said he really didn't talk so much about whatever he might be feeling at a given time,
that he'd just channel that into his lyrics and that was about it.

Seems to me his widow wrote a book some years
back. Did you ever hear of that?

See you at the second showing of the film!

Yeah see you there. And Debera Curtis did write a book and some NYC film makers are making a movie out of it.
